Keith H. Jampolis 1955 - Baskeball
At the end of his UVM basketball career Keith Jampolis, a 1983 Athletic Hall of Fame inductee, stood alone at the top as Vermont's career scoring leader. The first Catamount to net over 1,000 points, he was selected to All-Vermont, All-Yankee Conference and All-New England teams during his career. He totaled 1,034 points in 80 games, an average of 12.9 points per game.
The sharp-shooting guard jumped into the Catamount starting lineup as a freshman, when UVM went 14-6, earning honorable mention All-Vermont honors in his initial campaign. The Catamounts posted a winning record of 44-38 during his four varsity years. His last two seasons he led the team in scoring and as a senior, Jampolis served as team captain. At UVM Jampolis was a commander in the Air Force ROTC unit for two years.
After graduation he was invited to attend the training camp of the Minneapolis Lakers of the National Basketball Association. He declined the offer to enter the U.S. Air Force. Jampolis was the longtime president of the Keith Machinery Corp. in Lindenhurst, N.Y. He and his wife, Joan, have three children, Kerry, Jill and Kevin.
