David J. Dodge 1976 - Skiing
Dave Dodge, a 1991 UVM Hall of Fame inductee, was a three-time All-American alpine skier nearly ended his racing career after suffering a serious knee injury while skiing in Italy in 1973. However, after total knee reconstruction (performed by UVM's Dr. Robert Johnson and his staff), Dodge returned to ski racing in 1974 and earned All-America honors at three straight NCAA Skiing Championships from 1974-76.
His alpine racing success continued after graduation from UVM, highlighted by his four-year (1977-81) pro racing career and his Master's National Amateur Championship in 1988. In addition to the Master's title in 1988, he won the Master's Eastern Cup in 1987 and was considered the best racer in his age group.
Following graduation from UVM, with a degree in mechanical engineering, Dodge accepted a position with Rossignol Ski as its chief research and development engineer.
