The Rally Around Mental Health program was founded by former student-athletes Kelly Lennon (Swimming & Diving) and Trae Bell-Haynes (Men's Basketball). Their goal was to increase focus on mental health in Athletics and secure resources to meet this need. Thanks in large part to their efforts, Catamount Sport Psychology and Counseling was formed and now provides professional mental health services to UVM athletes. UVM Athletics is now partnering with Redstone VT and United Way of Northwest Vermont to help raise awareness and provide more mental health resources to UVM Student Athletes. Some examples of this include stress reduction events, honoraria for public speakers, and psycho-educational workshops for Student Athletes.Â
Â
The Rally Around Mental Health Initiative continues to grow, evolve, and seek new ways to support the Student Athletes at UVM. This year, our focus will be spreading awareness around mental health issues while decreasing the stigma attached to mental health & help-seeking through providing educational materials, mental health resources & support to UVM student-athletes and fans. At the 2024-2025Â Rally Around Mental Health Games, you can learn more about how to donate. Below is a schedule of upcoming Fall Rally Around Mental Health games:
