The University of Vermont is committed to the academic success and graduation of all students participating in its intercollegiate athletic program. Athletic and academic excellence are inseparable goals for Vermont student-athletes. The Student-Athlete Development staff provides comprehensive academic support and services for UVM student-athletes. These services are available to all student-athletes and are specialized to meet individual needs. All services are in compliance with NCAA, America East Conference and University guidelines for academic integrity and ethical behavior.
The Student-Athlete Development staff will:
- Help student-athletes plan an educational program and select courses appropriate for their interest and ability, in collaboration with faculty and student services advisors
- Monitor student-athlete educational progress in accordance to UVM graduation and NCAA eligibility requirements
- Refer student-athletes for tutoring and connect them with additional academic support services (Tutoring Center, Writing Center, Student Accessibility Services) as needed
- Monitor, evaluate, and report academic outcomes
- Recognize student-athlete, team, and department academic achievement
