BURLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont (5-3-3, 0-2-0 AE) will hit the road on Thursday, Oct. 3 for a conference matchup with NJIT (3-6-1, 0-1-0 AE) in Newark, NJ from Lubetkin Field at Mal Simon Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

VERMONT OUTLOOK
- The Catamounts concluded the month of September with a 4-2-1 record, outscoring their opponents 14-8 through seven matches.
- On the road, UVM is 3-1-1 this season and have outscored their opponents 12-6.
- Vermont ranks first in the America East in numerous categories including scoring offense with 1.91 goals per match, total goals (21), and total points scored (56). UVM also ranks second in the conference in points per game with 5.09 points per match.
- UVM has had 11 different players record a point or more this season. Vermont is also the only team in the conference with two players who have scored 10 or more points this season, Bailey Ayer (19) and Kate Bossert (10).
- Ayer remains at the top of the America East Conference in goals scored with eight total on the season thus far. Her eight goals are good for 15th nationally. Bossert rounds out the top five in the conference with four goals on the campaign thus far.
- Ayer also sits alone at the top of the conference in shots on goal, having 17, and total points, earning 19 to this point.
- Jill Brody cracks the top 10 in the America East for total shots, ranking 8th with 26 total shots thus far. Ayer and Emma Warren round out the top ten in total assist, ranking 6th and 7th, tallying three assists each.
- Vermont was picked to finish fifth in the America East 2024 Women's Soccer Preseason Coach's Poll.
SCOUTING THE HIGHLANDERS
- NJIT is coming off a 1-0 road loss to Drexel after falling in their conference opener 4-3 to Bryant. The Highlanders are 0-5 in their last five matchups and were shutout during three of those matches.
- The Highlanders are led by senior midfielder Ciara Adams who has six points this season on two goals and two assists. NJIT also rallies behind junior forward Briana Andreoli and senior midfielder Caroline Caputo, who each have five points on two goals and one assist.
- The Catamounts hold a 2-2-0 all-time record versus NJIT.
- The last time these two teams faced each other was last season on Oct. 22, 2023. NJIT was victories from Virtue Field, defeating UVM 3-2. Ayer and Brody found the back of the net for the Catamounts during that outing. Lauren DeGroot gathered one assist during the last matchup as well.
