Sydney Remington notched a goal as Vermont (8-4-5, 5-1-2 AE) defeated Bryant (5-5-8, 2-2-4 AE) 3-1 at Virtue Field in the America East Semifinals on Thursday night.

"We couldn't be happier for the team to have earned a spot in the America East Championship game and are especially excited to be hosting it.," said Head Coach Kristi Huizenga. "I thought we responded well to the early own goal to take the momentum. Lauren dug deep for the equalizer right before the half and it ignited us for the entirety of the second half. We appreciate all the support from our community and UVM teams and are excited for Sunday."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the third minute, Sydney Remington fired a free kick from outside the box. The Bryant goalie, however, made a comfortable save.
- A Bryant shot from inside the box on the left side in the 9th minute forced Kylee Carafoli to react quickly; she managed to get her hands on the ball.
- Bryant converted off a corner kick in the 18th minute, scoring on a header to take a 1-0 lead.
- Ten minutes later, Lauren DeGroot received a cross from the right side by Dell Weir, and DeGroot headed the ball just wide right of the goal.
- With four minutes remaining, Emma Warren intercepted a pass just outside the box and let a shot go, but the Bryant Goalkeeper made a diving save to her right. The ball bounced off her and landed to Lauren DeGroot, who took a shot, but a Byrant defender blocked the shot. Off the blocked shot, Sydney Remington took a shot inside the box but skied it just over the goal.
- Bridget Kennedy launched a ball high in the air in front of Lauren DeGroot, and DeGroot was able to beat out several Bryant defenders and put one past the keeper with 10 seconds remaining in the first half. The match went into halftime tied 1-1.
- Out of the half, Madeline Gardner had the ball inside the left side of the box. She hit a low cross and found Lauren DeGroot in the middle of the box, who was able to put it past the Byrant goalkeeper. Vermont took a 2-1 lead in the 52nd minute.
- In the 60th minute, Aubrey Bough gave a through ball to Sydney Remington, who snuck one past the Bryant goalkeeper from a shot inside the box. Vermont led 3-1.
- Jazlyn Oviedo's shot from outside the box in the 79th minute struck the left crossbar.
