ABOUT VERMONTVermont (6-13, 1-5) dropped its most recent matchup in a heartbreaking loss to Binghamton last Thursday. Three starters scored in double-figures led by
Andreana Thomas, who put up 19 points and dished out six helpers.
Â
UVM continues to block the most shots in the conference, totaling 98 on the season, and ranks 24th nationally. As a team, the Catamounts average at least 5.2 swats per game and post 6.5 blocks in games that result in a Vermont win.
Â
Vermont's starters have played a key role for the Catamounts offensively this season. The starting lineup scores over 70-percent of UVM's points, averaging almost 40 of Vermont's 56.3 points per game. The starters also dish out 80-percent of the Catamounts' assists.
Â
UVM went 22-for-22 from the foul line against UMass Lowell on Jan. 18 and set an NCAA single-game record this season for free throw percentage. Vermont is one of only five teams to shoot 100-percent from the line as a team this year.
The Catamounts' perfect execution from the charity stripe also matched a 12-year UVM record for free throw percentage set in 2004 against Albany. It marked the second time Vermont was perfect from the line this year, as it went 11-for-11 against Delaware on Dec. 22.
LAST TIME OUT | CatamounTV HighlightsUVM tangled with the Binghamton at Patrick Gym on Thursday night, but dropped a close league contest to the Bearcats 57-53.
Â
Vermont continued to remain on Binghamton's heels in the second quarter, as the Bearcats never took more than a six-point lead (24-18) with three minutes left in the half.
Courtney Wright laid in a hook shot to make it a two-possession game, and
Andreana Thomas connected on one-of-two from the charity stripe, as UVM closed the half trailing Binghamton 24-21.
Â
Binghamton went on a 6-2 run in the fourth quarter, enough to take its largest lead of the half at 46-42 with 4:55 left in the game, but
Sydney Smith answered back with another 3-pointer to make it a single possession game once again.
Â
Smith netted her fourth triple of the night with less than a minute remaining, only for Imani Watkins to follow up with one of her own for a two-point Bearcat lead with 17.9 seconds to play. Binghamton's Kim Albrecht struck twice from the line in the final seconds to secure the Bearcat victory.Â
SCOUTING THE WILDCATSNew Hampshire (7-12, 1-5) fell to Hartford on Sunday 44-48 after a late, fourth quarter rally by the Hawks. Elizabeth Belanger posted a double-double with 13 points and a game-best 11 rebounds for the Wildcats.
UNH has five players shooting over 40-percent this season with Belanger leading the way. The senior is averaging 16.8 points per game and grabbing at least seven rebounds per contest. She also boasts a conference-best free throw percentage at a clip of 87-percent.

The trio registers 37.4 points per game, accounting for 63.6-percent of New Hampshire's points. New Hampshire is 6-2 this season when outscoring its opponent in the paint.
SERIES HISTORYVermont leads the all-time series against the Wildcats 39-36 as Wednesday marks the 76th meeting between the two teams. The two schools split the season series last year, as UVM topped New Hampshire on the road in Durham, 63-60.
Â
Last February's win in New Hampshire marked the first Catamount victory in the series since the 2012-13 season. Prior to that, Vermont had won 11 straight matchups between 2006 and 2010.
