2011-12 SEASON: Played in all 30 games, starting 21 … She started the first 10 and final 11 games of the year … Taylor was named to the America East All-Rookie Team … She averaged 8.3 points, 6.8 rebounds and 25.2 minutes per game … She ranked third among freshmen in the league in scoring and led all rookies in rebounding (9th overall) She reached double figures in scoring 12 times, including the final three games of the season … She scored a career-high 22 points and added eight rebounds against Albany in the America East Quarterfinals … Was named America East Rookie of the Week three times during the year … Posted three double-doubles … Scored 16 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in a win at Houston Baptist in the first round of the Husky Classic, which UVM won … Was named to the TD Bank Classic All-Tournament Team after totaling 26 points and 17 rebounds to help Vermont win its own tournament.
BEFORE VERMONT: Taylor, who was named the Maine Gatorade Player of the Year for the second straight season as a senior, became just the fourth player to win the honor twice since its inception in 1986 … She comes to Vermont after an outstanding career at York High School in York, Maine ... She averaged 16 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.1 assists per game as a senior ... She became York's all-time leading scorer in 2010-11, finishing her career with 1,444 points and breaking the previous mark of 1,413 points set by former York and Vermont standout Lani Boardman '05 (1997-2001) … She also grabbed 963 rebounds in her career and led York to a record of 79-6 over four years … Taylor led York to the Class B State Championship Game twice and is a two-time Bangor Daily News All-Star.
