LEXINGTON, Va. – Junior
Ellie Fazio grabbed the headlines on day three of the 2025 America East Swimming and Diving Championships from VMI. She reset her own varsity record in winning the 100 Breast and swam the second leg in UVM's varsity record and first place performance in the 400 Medley Relay. After the third day of competition Vermont sits in third place with 450 points. New Hampshire is in first place heading into the final day of competition with 527 points, Bryant sits in second with 493.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hally Laney started day three off with a bang for the Catamounts resetting the varsity record in the 100 Fly with a time of 54.11 in the prelims. Remarkably she swam the exact same time in the finals to earn All-Conference honors with a second-place finish.
- In the next event it was first year Emma Freer earning All-Conference honors with a second-place finish in the 400 IM. Her time of 4:22.69 set a new first year record for Vermont. The Catamounts Natalie Schlemmer placed sixth in the event with a time of 4:27.83.
- The Catamounts run of silver medals on Friday continued into the 200 Free. Jackie House was the runner-up with a time of 1:49.94. She earned 17 points for Vermont and All-Conference honors. Ella Church placed sixth for the Catamounts in a time of 1:51.79.
- Next up was Fazio's America East title in the 100 Breast. Her time of 1:01.82 was a pool record in addition to resetting her own varsity record. She topped her nearest competition by .99 seconds.
- Alexis Torykian picked up the Catamounts third silver medal of the evening with a second-place finish in the 100 Back. Her time of 55.74 was just .19 seconds behind the league champion Amelia Labno from UNH. Julie Salvador Prues was seventh in the event for UVM.
- Torykian swam the first leg for UVM's 400 Medley Relay squad. Along with Fazio, Laney and Josie Hiers they set the pool and varsity record with a time of 3:42.27. They topped second-place UNH by 1.01 seconds.
WHAT'S NEXT
The final day of action from the 2025 AE Championships is slated for Saturday. Preliminaries will begin at 10 a.m. in the 200 Back, 100 Free, 200 Breast, 200 Fly and 1650 Free. At 5:30 p.m. the finals will begin for all the previous events and the 400 Free Relay. All of Saturday's action will be streamed live on ESPN+.
