HANCOCK/RIPTON, Vt. – Hanna Larsson Nathhorst notched her first podium of the season on Saturday afternoon from the Middlebury Snow Bowl in Hancock, Vt, placing third in the giant slalom securing Vermont its lone podium appearance on the day. Overall, UVM finished third in the carnival with 722.5 total points. Dartmouth won its fifth straight carnival, winning this one with 898 total points.

Final Middlebury Carnival Results
On the slopes, the men's and women's Alpine teams had another impressive outing during day two of the Middlebury Carnival, seeing the women post the most amount of points out of every school and the men secure the third most points on the day racing the giant slalom. Larsson Nathhorst earned a season high third place finish, her first podium of the season, racing a two-run time of 2:03.24.
Justine Clément finished in seventh place with a two-run time of 2:04.22, her fourth time this season finishing the giant slalom in the top 10.
Cydnie Timmermann placed 10th with a two-run time of 2:04.53, her second time this season finishing the giant slalom in the top 10.
The men's Alpine team saw
Mackenzie Wood finish in fifth place during the giant slalom with a two-run time of 1:59.87, the sixth time in seven races Wood has finished in the top five and fourth straight race.
Magnus Berge Styren finished in sixth place with a two-run time of 2:00.21, the seventh race this season Styren has placed in the top 10.
The Nordic team competed in a 10K Classic Interval Skate in Ripton, Vt. from the Rikert Nordic Center, seeing
Finn Sweet secure a team best fifth place finish with a time of 25:01.5, his second top five finish on the season. On the women's side,
Annie McColgan notched a ninth-place finish, a team best for the women, racing a time of 29:37.4, her seventh time this season finishing in the top 10.

Vermont is back in action next week for the UNH Carnival, which will also be the EISA Championships, starting on Friday (Feb. 21) and concluding on Saturday (Feb. 22). Nordic will be competing in Jackson, NH from the Jackson XC while Alpine competes in Franconia Notch, NH from the Mittersill. On Friday, Nordic will race in a 7.5K Classic Interval start while Alpine competes in the giant slalom. On Saturday, Nordic concludes with a 15K Freestyle Mass Start and Alpine finishes up with the slalom race. Start times will be posted on UVMAthletics.com when available.
