COACH'S QUOTE
"It was really good to see them respond as a team, nobody taking it personally, everybody taking ownership and just doing their job. It's great to see we can build off the end of that game, but we must put 40 minutes together consistently," said Mayer Head Women's Basketball Coach Alisa Kresge.  "When we are very fundamental and get the right person the ball at the right time, we can be a very balanced attack and that can be hard to defend."

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The two teams traded baskets to open the game, with the Catamounts taking an 11-8 lead into the first media timeout. Catherine Gilwee and Nikola Priede combined for nine, with Vito having the other two.
  • After the media timeout, Vermont went on a 6-0 run through four points from Vito and two from Malia Lenz to force a New Hampshire timeout.
  • The teams exchanged buckets to end the quarter with the Catamounts up 21-12, with Priede and Lenz each scoring.
  • Vermont opened the second quarter on a 12-5 run with Vito having four, Gilwee and Keira Hanson having three, and Sarah Lazar having two.
  • Eva DeChent took the Wildcats on a 7-0 to cut the deficit to single digits.
  • However, the Catamounts closed the half on a 6-0 run with Vito, Gilwee, and Priede scoring.
  • Vermont pushed their lead to 22, heading into the third media timeout as they outscored New Hampshire 13-6 to open the third. Vito had four, while Anna Olson, Hanson, and Lenz had three.
  • The Catamounts closed the third on an 11-4 to push their lead to 28. Olson had four, and Hanson had three in the stretch.
  • The Wildcats went on an 8-4 run before the final media timeout to cut into the deficit with Priede and Olson scoring.
  • After the final media timeout, New Hampshire closed the game on a 7-5 run, with Emma Haan scoring all five points.
