BURLINGTON, Vt. – The Catamounts (2-1-3) look to continue their non-conference play at home on Sunday (Sept. 8) against Patriot League foe, Holy Cross (2-4). Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET at Virtue Field and will broadcast live on ESPN+ with Brian McLaughlin on the call. Sunday's matchup is the Peter Baldwin Memorial Game, presented by Morgan Stanley.

PETER BALDWIN MEMORIAL GAME pres. MORGAN STANLEY
- The annual Peter Baldwin Memorial Game allow us to honor Peter's memory, and his commitment to the special Vermont community through both his time at UVM and his work at Morgan Stanley.
- Baldwin, a 1968 graduate and 1984 UVM Athletic Hall of Fame inductee, guided the Vermont men's soccer team to three straight Yankee Conference titles and currently ranks fifth on the school's all-time scoring list.
- Kate Bossert will wear an armband with the number '11' in honor of Baldwin.
VERMONT OUTLOOK
- Bailey Ayer has had a dominating start to the season, registering seven goals in six games. Her seven goals are currently tied for 5th throughout every Division 1 program in the country. She ranks first in the America East conference in goals scored while her shots taken is ranked second and her shots on target is ranked first. She also stands alone at the top of the America East rankings in total points, securing 15 total on her seven goals and one assist. Nationally, Ayer ranks 8th in the total points category.
- Bossert had her third career multi goal game after scoring twice against Sienna, her first goals of the season. Bossert ranks 10th overall in goals scored throughout the America East conference and eighth in total points (5). Bossert is also tied for 11th in the AE conference for total shots, earning 10 thus far.
- Graduate student Jill Brody is tied for ninth in the America East conference with 12 shots.
- Vermont has spread the wealth through the first six games of the season with six different goal scorers. Ayer leads Vermont with seven goals, including two game winners and one hat-trick. Ayer recorded a goal in five of the first six games of the season. Bossert is second on the team in points with five after registering two goals against Siena and an assist against FDU. Freshman Farrah Yaacoub scored her first career goal against Saint Anselm and Sophomore's Emma Warren and Aubrey Bough each tallied their first career goals, Bough against UConn and Warren versus Boston University. Midfielders Sydney Remington, Elizabeth Sommeling, and Brody each have recorded an assist for Vermont as well.
- Sophomore defender Bridget Kennedy scored her first career point against Siena after recording one assist.
- The Catamounts have outscored opponents this year 13-8, with Vermont having held opponents to an average of 1.333 goals a match.
- Vermont leads the America East in average goals per game with 2.167.
- The Catamounts return four America East All-Conference members from their 2023 squad, Bossert, Ayer, Kennedy, and Maddy Cronin.
- Vermont was picked to finish fifth in the America East 2024 Women's Soccer Preseason Coach's Poll.
SCOUTING THE CRUSADERS
- Holy Cross is coming off a 2-0 win against Central Connecticut State.
- The Crusaders are 2-4 on the season. All four of their losses have come on the road this year.
- Through six games, Holy Cross has been outscored 7-8 by opponents.
- Sophomore forward Charlotte Hancher leads Holy Cross with two goals on the year.
- The Crusaders offense has been averaging 1.17 goals per game.
- In the 2023 season, Holy Cross finished with a 5-7-5 record
- The Crusader's roster consists of 22 returners with a total of nine seniors returning.
- Holy Cross received the least number of votes in the Patriot League preseason poll.
- Vermont holds a 5-1-3 all-time record against the Crusaders. The Catamounts last victory over Holy Cross came in 1993 when they won 4-0.
