Anna Olson had a career-high 22 points leading Vermont in a comeback effort Saturday afternoon as they rallied from a six-point fourth quarter deficit to win the Catamounts first playoff game under Mayer Women's Basketball Coach
Alisa Kresge. Vermont advanced to its 20th America East Semifinal in program history with a 71-63 win over Binghamton at Patrick Gym. The Catamounts also reached the 20-win mark for the first time since the 2009-10 campaign.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bearcats came out strong in the first quarter hitting five of their first six shots to build an early 11-4 advantage. The Catamounts responded with an 11-0 run over 3:12 of game action. Anna Olson had 10 points in the first quarter for Vermont. The Catamounts led 21-15 after the opening 10 minutes.
- Late in the second quarter Binghamton used a 13-2 run with five points from Hayley Moore to take a 36-31 lead with 45 seconds left in the half. The Catamounts hit three free throws down the stretch and the Bearcats advantage was two at the break.
- In the third quarter Emma Utterback had eight points to lead Vermont. The Bearcats' lead reached a game-high seven points with 5:39 to go in the third quarter after a three-point play from Birna Benonysdottir. Binghamton took a six-point lead into the final frame.
- Vermont used an 8-1 run in the first 4:41 of the fourth quarter to retake the lead at 54-53. Utterback had six of those points for the Catamounts.
- With 2:16 to go Josie Larkins buried a huge three-pointer to give Vermont the lead for good. It keyed a 7-0 run over 50 seconds that saw UVM lead 61-55. The Catamounts hit eight free throws down the stretch to seal their sixth straight win and a semifinal berth.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Saturday was First Team All-Conference guard Emma Utterback's seventh straight game with 13 or more points for the Catamounts.
- Vermont is now 3-0 all-time in the postseason against Binghamton. All three wins over the Bearcats have come in the quarterfinals.
- The Catamounts scored 26 points off the Bearcats 20 turnovers Saturday afternoon.
- Anna Olson had a career-high 22 points Saturday and 16 of those came in the first half.
