WOMEN'S SOCCER NOTEBOOK
After a 4-3 win on opening day against Merrimack the Vermont women's soccer team will continue the 2021 season this week with road contests at Siena and Dartmouth. The Catamounts will face the defending MAAC champions at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 27. Then on Sunday, August 29 at 2 p.m. Vermont will face Dartmouth in a game broadcast on ESPN+.

OFFENSIVE OUTPUT
The Catamounts four goals in their season-opener against Merrimack was the most UVM has scored in a single game since defeating UMBC 6-5 on the road October 4, 2009. The last time UVM scored four goals in its season-opener was August 30, 2003 against Stetson.
SECOND HALF TO REMEMBER FOR BRODY
Sophomore forward
Jill Brody scored the first two goals of her collegiate career Sunday as the Catamounts won their opener against the Warriors. Her second tally in the 89th minute was the game-winner. Through one game she is tied with UMBC's Juliana Rafaniello for first in the conference averaging two goals per game. Brody and Rafaniello are also currently tied for third in the NCAA.
KESSEL REACHING DOUBLE DIGITS
Dating back to last season junior goalkeeper
Lydia Kessel has made ten or more saves in each of her last three starts. Sunday, she made 10 saves against Merrimack.
SCOUTING SIENA
The Saints are 2-0 this season with a 2-0 win over Binghamton at home and a 2-1 decision over Holy Cross on Monday afternoon. Their win over the Crusaders was played on Monday due to the forecasted effects of Tropical Storm Henri.
Junior midfielder Katrina Kurtz is the Saints leading scorer with three points this season. She had a goal and an assist in Siena's win over Binghamton. Siena has four players with one goal on the season.
Last season the Saints were 6-1-2 and captured their third-ever MAAC Tournament Championship. Over the last two seasons the Saints are 5-0-1 at home.
Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Brooke Boermeester has started both games for Siena this season, stopping 12 of the 13 shots she's faced. She has four career starts to her name.
SCOUTING DARTMOUTH
The Big Green open their 2021 campaign Friday day night as they host Holy Cross at Burnham Field. Due to Ivy League restrictions around COVID-19 Dartmouth didn't play any games during the 2020-21 academic year.
During the 2019 campaign Dartmouth was 10-6-1 including a 6-1-1 mark at home which included wins over ACC opponents Pittsburgh and Syracuse. Dartmouth's last non-conference home loss came on September 7, 2018, it was a 3-2 double overtime decision with Northeastern.
In the 2021 Ivy League Women's Soccer Preseason Poll Dartmouth was selected to finish sixth in the league.
FORMER CATAMOUNT SARAH LEIBY '14 NEW ASSISTANT COACH WITH BIG GREEN
Former Catamount goaltender Sarah Leiby '14 was recently appointed as an Assistant Coach with Dartmouth. In 2011, she set a single season record at Vermont for minutes played by a goalkeeper while leading the America East Conference in saves with 101. She also kept three clean sheets. In 2019 Leiby was tabbed as one of the nation's top 30 assistant coaches under 30 years old by United Soccer Coaches. Leiby has coached at Saint Leo University, Montana State and South Dakota prior to joining the Big Green.

Siena
Fans wishing to attend any Siena Athletics games held on campus are required to adhere to the Siena Athletics Spectator Policy. All spectators are required to complete the Siena Athletics Spectator Screening Form at
sienasaints.com/spectatorregistration, and receive clearance to attend, prior to their arrival on campus. All spectators must be vaccinated to be able to attend, and are required to bring proof of vaccination with them to campus. Unvaccinated children 12 and under must remain masked at all times. Spectators are requested to enter campus via Route 9 through the College's main gate on Loudon Road and check in at the Welcome Booth.
Dartmouth
There are currently no restrictions on attending outdoor events at Dartmouth College.
