COACH'S QUOTE
"We didn't have our best tonight but give credit to a well-coached Marist team," Mayer Women's Basketball Coach Alisa Kresge said. "We'll watch the film, learn from our miscues and get back to work."

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Red Foxes hit back-to-back three-pointers to take an early lead Sunday. The Catamounts responded with a 5-0 run of their own from a Josie Larkins shot from deep and Emma Utterback drive. Marist used a 6-1 run over the final 1:42 of the first quarter to take a 20-11 lead to the second quarter.
  • Marist started the second quarter with a 9-0 run over the first 2:31 of game action. Leiya Stuart hit a three-pointer late in the quarter part of her team-high five points in the first half but Marist took an 18-point advantage into the half.
  • Jane McCauley hit three three-pointers in 77 seconds in the third quarter cutting the Marist lead to 16 in the final minute of the third quarter. The teams played an even third frame, 17-17.
  • McCauley hit another triple 66 seconds into the fourth quarter cutting the lead to 55-40 but it was the closest Vermont got. Marist scored the next seven points to lockdown its second win of the season.
