POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Marist's Kiara Fisher had a game-high 17 points and shot 80% from the field as the Red Foxes used a quick start to defeat Vermont 67-50 in non-conference action from McCann Arena Sunday afternoon. With the win Marist improved to 2-1 on the campaign while the Catamounts fell to 1-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Red Foxes hit back-to-back three-pointers to take an early lead Sunday. The Catamounts responded with a 5-0 run of their own from a Josie Larkins shot from deep and Emma Utterback drive. Marist used a 6-1 run over the final 1:42 of the first quarter to take a 20-11 lead to the second quarter.
- Marist started the second quarter with a 9-0 run over the first 2:31 of game action. Leiya Stuart hit a three-pointer late in the quarter part of her team-high five points in the first half but Marist took an 18-point advantage into the half.
- Jane McCauley hit three three-pointers in 77 seconds in the third quarter cutting the Marist lead to 16 in the final minute of the third quarter. The teams played an even third frame, 17-17.
- McCauley hit another triple 66 seconds into the fourth quarter cutting the lead to 55-40 but it was the closest Vermont got. Marist scored the next seven points to lockdown its second win of the season.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- First year Bella Vito saw her first regular season action as a Catamount Sunday. She played eight minutes and had one assist and two rebounds.
- Sophomore forward Anna Olson led the Catamounts with eight rebounds and three blocked shots.

Vermont returns to action next weekend as they face Navy in Annapolis on Saturday, November 20 at 11 a.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
