FINAL SCORE: UMass Lowell 66, Vermont 50
BURLINGTON, Vt. – Kharis Idom had a game-high 18 points leading the River Hawks in a wire-to-wire 66-50 win over Vermont Saturday afternoon at Patrick Gym. With the win the River Hawks moved to 2-2 on the season and 1-0 in league play, the Catamounts fell to 0-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The River Hawks started quick growing a 14-4 edge 5:29 into the opening frame. Maddy Smith hit two three-pointers and Sarah Wells added another as the Catamounts fought back cutting the UML lead to eight heading to the second quarter, 23-15.
- Jane McCauley hit a three-pointer with 5:42 left in the first half to pull the Catamounts within three. In the final 2:50 of the quarter UMass Lowell closed with a 7-0 run to take a 10-point edge into the break. The River Hawks Denise Solis and Idom each had nine points in the first twenty minutes.
- Idom hit consecutive three-pointers to start the third quarter, helping the River Hawks keep Vermont at bay despite four points from Delaney Richason and Emma Utterback in the early going. The River Hawks hit four from downtown in the frame to take an 18-point lead into the fourth quarter.
- The Catamounts started the fourth quarter on a 5-0 run to cut the lead to 13 with a Larkins triple and Richason bucket in transition but the River Hawks closed strong to seal the win
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- UVM freshman Anna Olson, making her first collegiate start, scored 22 seconds into her career in the green and gold.
- Marissa McDonald, Madelyn Roel, Leiya Stuart and Maddy Smith all made their Vermont debuts as well.
- Senior guard Josie Larkins had seven assists this afternoon, it was the fourth time in her career she's had seven or more helpers.
- Emma Utterback had a team-high 10 points for the Catamounts. In 18 games against America East opponents she has reached double figures 12 times.
