BURLINGTON, Vt. –
Hanna Crymble had 18 points including two first half three-pointers as the Catamounts used a strong first quarter to defeat UMBC 58-50 Wednesday afternoon in UVM's annual Catamount Classroom Game presented by VSAC at Patrick Gym. With the win the Catamounts improved to 7-7 in conference play. The seven conference wins are the most for Vermont since the 2009-10 campaign.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vermont started the game 4-for-4 from downtown, including two made three-pointers from Candice Wright. The Catamounts held UMBC to one made field goal in the opening frame and carried a 19-4 lead into the second quarter.
- Hanna Crymble had five points in the second quarter as the Catamounts continued their strong play. Sarah Wells hit a three-pointer with 5:05 remaining to give UVM a 27-8 lead and force a UMBC timeout. The Catamounts carried a 32-12 lead into the break, their largest halftime advantage in a league game this season.
- In the third quarter UMBC's Te'Yjah Oliver fueled the Retrievers comeback attempt. She scored 11 of UMBC's 17 points in the third frame, including a trio of three-pointers. UMBC cut the Catamounts advantage to 14 and UVM held a 43-29 edge heading into the final ten minutes.
- UMBC scored a game-high 21 points in the fourth quarter but wasn't able to cut the UVM edge under eight.
INSIDE THE GAME
- In the first half Vermont collected nine offensive rebounds and had nine assists on 12 made field goals.
- The Catamounts scored 16 points off UMBC's turnovers, Vermont forced 13 on the day.
- Vermont led the game Wednesday for 39:14.
- Wednesday's attendance of 1,605 is the most for a home game this season. Students from 14 local schools attended the game.
- With the victory, the Cats Win, Community Wins campaign and Vermont Mutual Insurance Group will donate $100 to Make-A-Wish Vermont; bringing this year's total to 36 wins and $3,600.

Vermont hosts its final regular season home game on Saturday, February 23 at 2 p.m. as they face Binghamton in a crucial league matchup. Saturday is Senior Day presented by the UVM Alumni Association. In a pregame ceremony UVM will honor its four seniors –
