FINAL SCORE: Binghamton 59, Vermont 50
BURLINGTON, Vt. – Binghamton guard Kai Moon scored 21 points in the second half as the Bearcats defeated Vermont 59-50 Saturday afternoon on Senior Day presented by the UVM Alumni Association. With the win the Bearcats improved to 7-7 in conference play, while the Catamounts fell to 7-8.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bearcats opened the game on a 7-0 run fueled by four points from Olivia Ramil. Vermont responded with an 8-0 run of their own which included two three-pointers from Josie Larkins. Candice Wright hit a jumper with three seconds left in the quarter to give the Catamounts a 13-11 edge.
- 90 seconds into the second quarter senior Lauren Handy hit a three-pointer to give the Catamounts an 18-11 edge. Candice Wright added four points late in the frame to give UVM a nine-point lead. Carly Boland hit a buzzer beater for the Bearcats to make it 25-18.
- Moon scored eight points early in the third quarter as Binghamton used a 17-2 run to take a six-point lead. The teams exchanged three-pointers and Asha Scott gave the Catamounts the lead back at 39-38 with a layup. Moon hit a three-pointer with five seconds left in the quarter to give the Bearcats a four-point lead.
- Moon scored seven consecutive points for Binghamton to build an eight-point cushion early in the fourth quarter. Vermont cut the lead to four, but were unable to complete the comeback.
INSIDE THE GAME
- The Catamounts bench outscored Binghamton 22-3, including 13 points from Josie Larkins.
- Asha Scott set a new career-high with three steals. As a team Vermont caused 14 turnovers.
- Seniors Cassidy Derda, Lauren Handy, Candice Wright and Courtney Wright played their last home games at Patrick Gym.
- With the loss Vermont is no longer in contention for home court advantage in the America East Playoffs. They will be the five or six-seed and travel for the America East Quarterfinals on Wednesday, March 6.
