CHICAGO – Allison Day scored a career high 19 points including the game winner with .4 seconds left in regulation to push Loyola Chicago past Vermont 78-76 Friday afternoon from Gentile Arena. With the win the Ramblers are 2-0 this season while the Catamounts fell to 0-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Josie Larkins led the Catamounts in an extremely efficient first quarter for both teams. Combined the teams made 15 of 17 shots at one point in the opening frame. Larkins had 12 points, including two three-pointers. Delaney Richason also hit back-to-back three pointers as UVM took a 26-20 lead into the second quarter.
- Emma Utterback had five early points in the second quarter as UVM extended its lead to 33-24 90 seconds into the quarter. The Ramblers responded with a 10-0 run in 3:02 of game action to take a one-point edge.
- Utterback responded for UVM adding five more points including her second three-pointer of the quarter to help UVM take a 41-39 lead to the locker room.
- Hanna Crymble led the Catamounts in the third stanza with eight points but the Ramblers went on another 10-0 run and led 62-56 heading to the fourth quarter.
- Trailing 67-60 three minutes into the fourth UVM went on a run of its own. Carly Whiteside hit two free throws and a three-pointer in the span of 33 seconds as UVM regained the lead 70-69.
- In the final three minutes of game action there were four ties. With 39 seconds left and the game tied at 76 Crymble was called for an offensive foul, her fourth of the game, after Day appeared to trip while defending her. After a missed Ramblers field goal and a UVM turnover the Ramblers had a chance to inbound the ball with three seconds left under the UVM basket.
- Day took the inbound feed and hit a tough shot in the paint over Crymble, playing with four fouls, with .4 seconds left.
- Vermont ran a perfect play to Crymble searching for a game-tying basket, but her last second shot, that went in, wasn't released in time.

- There was just one foul called in the first 13 minutes of game action this afternoon.
- In the first half the Catamounts had 13 assists on 17 made field goals.
- Emma Utterback's 19 points were the most in a single game by a UVM freshman since senior forward Hanna Crymble had 20 points on February 2, 2017 against Hartford.
- Hanna Crymble set a new career high with six assists this afternoon. Her previous best was three at UNH last season. Josie Larkins matched her career high with seven assists today.
- Vermont shot 56.6% from the field this afternoon their best team performance in over 10 seasons. It was the Catamounts second game at or above 50% with Coach Kresge.
