FINAL SCORE: #23 Minnesota 90, Vermont 58
MINNEAPOLIS – Four Golden Gophers reached double figures Sunday afternoon as No. 23 Minnesota defeated Vermont 90-58 in their second-ever meeting from Williams Arena. With the win, the Golden Gophers improved to 1-1 this season while the Catamounts fell to 0-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Josie Larkins opened the scoring for the Catamounts with a three-pointer and then added an assist with a beautiful feed to Emma Utterback. Minnesota native Hanna Crymble connected on a jumper 3:18 into the game and UVM held a 7-4 edge. The Golden Gophers quickly responded with an 11-0 run and pushed their advantage to 15 heading to the second frame.
- Minnesota hit three straight field goals early in the second quarter, stretching their lead to 25 at 38-13. Rose Caverly had four points in the second quarter and Utterback added a three-pointer as the Catamounts closed the half outscoring Minnesota 11-9.
- Vermont's Minnesotan carried UVM in the third quarter. Crymble had 11 points in the frame, moving into the top-10 all-time at Vermont in scoring. Through a stretch of the third and fourth quarter she scored 13 straight points for Vermont.
- The Golden Gophers outscored UVM 27-18 in the final frame to seal their first win of the season.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Freshman guard Jane McCauley made her collegiate debut Sunday afternoon.
- Vermont had seven offensive rebounds Sunday after grabbing just one on Friday at Loyola Chicago.
- Hanna Crymble passed Alex Lawson (1993-97) on the all-time scoring list. Crymble now has 1,298 career points. She needs 79 points to move into ninth all-time.
- Former Catamounts Gracia Brettingen '16 (Hutson) and Kristina White '17, two of the other four all-time UVM letterwinners from the state of Minnesota were in attendance Sunday.
