SCOUTING SACRED HEART
Sunday's contest will be the final game of a three-game homestand for the Pioneers who square off with Columbia on Friday night (Sept. 7). SHU has a higher offensive output on its home turf compared to road games. The Pioneers have tallied six points in Fairfield, Connecticut as opposed to zero points away from home. Sacred Heart's goal scoring has been split between Maranda Gibbons and Christina Palanza with one goal apiece. Caitlyn Buckley and Emily Rosso have also been credited with one assist each. Netminder Nicole Sambuco has recorded 32 saves this season, including a season-high nine stops against St. John's on Aug. 27.
INSIDE THE SERIES
The Catamounts have an unblemished 3-0-0 mark against the Pioneers. Sunday's matinee will be the first meeting in Fairfield as the previous three contests have been played in Burlington. UVM topped SHU 3-1 in 2001 and 2-1 in 2013, both as a part of the Vermont Soccer Classic/TD Bank Classic. Last year, Vermont scored on a penalty kick from
