NATIONAL AND CONFERENCE STATS
The Cats have netted 11 goals and handed out seven assists this season which is the fifth-highest total in the conference in both categories.
Sarah Martin ranks ninth on the America East scoring list with eight points on two goals and four assists. Netminder
Coco Speckmaier ranks 27th in the nation with 61 saves.
LAST TIME OUT | UNH Highlights
UVM suffered its first home defeat of the season with a 2-0 loss to twin state rival New Hampshire on Thursday night in the conference opener. The Wildcats jumped out in front in the third minute after an unlucky bounce for the Catamounts. Jackie Feraco took a free kick from 30 yards out and hooked a ball into the box where a UVM defender tried to clear the ball away with a header but the misfire found the back of the net. UNH doubled its lead in the 30th minute by finishing a rebound opportunity. Brooke Murphy lined a shot from inside of the six-yard box and Speckmaier (5 saves) deflected the ball off the crossbar. On the rebound, Gaby Dorsey gathered the loose ball and tapped in the goal with a right-footed shot.
SECONDS? YES, PLEASE!
Vermont has won the second conference game on the docket in three out of the last four seasons. UVM beat UMass Lowell 1-0 in overtime last year and topped UMBC with a 2-1 win back in 2014. The Cats were victorious against UMass Lowell again in 2013 in the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
ALL-TIME COACHING RECORDS
Head coach
Kristi Lefebvre has tallied 37 wins during her tenure with the Catamounts and she is only four wins shy of tying Jodi Kenyon for second place on the program's all-time wins list. In her first season at the helm in 2011, the Catamounts earned a berth into the America East Tournament for the first time in five years and she has guided the Green and Gold to three semifinals appearances during her time in Burlington – the most by a Vermont head coach.
SCOUTING BINGHAMTON
Binghamton has surprised the league this season after getting picked to finish eighth in the America East Preseason Coaches' Poll, but the group sits only one game out of first place at the moment. The Bearcats will play their first home game in a month, but BU has been successful on the road this season with a 5-1-2 record. Binghamton was 4-2-2 during the month of September and outscored its opponents 10-5. Redshirt junior Kayla Seager leads the league in every offensive category – 23 points, nine goals, five assists, three game-winning goals, and 72 shots. Sophomore Ryan Reilly and freshman Essie Bonney follow with three goals apiece. Fellow sophomore Sam O'Malley has dished out three assists, which leads the Bearcats and the mark is also tied for third in America East. Senior goalie Katie Hatziyianis owns the best goals-against average in the conference at 0.80.
INSIDE THE SERIES
The Catamounts are looking to even the all-time series but face a 6-7 record against the Bearcats heading into the weekend. UVM has won three out of the last four meetings and Sunday's contest will be the earliest meeting on the schedule between the two programs since the 2006 season (Sept. 24). Binghamton is happy to see former Catamount
Nikki McFarland graduate as the former star scored three game-winners against the Bearcats in 2016, 2015, and 2013. McFarland's game-winner in last year's regular season finale lifted the Green and Gold into the America East Tournament.
