With sights set on its first road win of the 2016 season, UVM traveled to South Carolina for a pair of games in the Nike Challenge 2 Series. Friday against the Citadel, Vermont controlled the game from start to finish outshooting its Southern Conference opponent 16-7.
Colby Snyder broke the ice on the scoreboard early in the second half pouncing on a rebound a calmly directing it home for her first career goal and the game-winner. The 1-0 win was Vermont's third shutout of the season. Sunday against Charleston Southern, Vermont got goals from three different players and
Coco Speckmaier made a career-high 11 saves in a 3-1 win.
Savana Yurick, Snyder and
Caitie Green all found the back of the net in Vermont's highest offensive output of the season.

Speckmaier Snags Co-Player of the Week Honor
On Monday, the America East Conference announced that junior goalkeeper
Coco Speckmaier earned Co-Player of the Week honors after her solid weekend in South Carolina. Speckmaier registered 14 total saves and allowed just one goal in two games. She lowered her goals against average from 1.28 to 1.09.

At the Top
The Catamounts' strong start has propelled them to the top of several statistical categories in the America East. As a team, Vermont ranks second in total points and goals while ranking third in assists and goals against average.
Sarah Martin ranks second overall in shots firing 28 in eight games so far.
Julia Smith checks in at No. 2 in points and goals while
Nikki McFarland is tied for second with three assists this season.

Cats on a Roll
With its 5-2-1 record to start the season, Vermont currently has the highest winning percentage (.688) in the league while going unbeaten in its last four games. UVM's five wins are also the most through eight games since the 2004 season (also started 5-2-1 that season).

Scouting the Big Green
Entering Tuesday's contest with a 5-2 record, Dartmouth will provide Vermont with its toughest non-conference test to date. After a narrow 1-0 defeat at Wake Forest earlier in the season, Darmtouth has since rattled off wins in three of four including a 3-1 win over Albany last Friday. Opponents have scored just three goals against the Big Green, a stat that ranks fifth nationally. Goalkeeper Casey Cousineau ranks eighth nationally in goals against average. Charlotte Esty leads Dartmouth with eight points on three goals and two assists as eight players have combined to score Dartmouth's ten goals.

Series History
Dartmouth has had the upperhand in the all-time series with Vermont, which dates back to 1978. This will be the 32
nd meeting between the two teams and Vermont is 11-17-3 in the prior 31 games. UVM's last win was a 2-0 shutout in 1990. Dartmouth has won 16 of the last 18 meetings.
