VESTAL, N.Y. - The
Vermont women's basketball team travels to Binghamton to finish out a two-game road swing. UVM takes on the Bearcats at 12 p.m. on Saturday at the Events Center. Kevin Fitzgerald will be calling the action on WVMT-620 AM (online: SportsJuice.com) and the game will be streamed online via AmericaEast.tv.
UVM stands at 3-11 overall and 0-2 in league play after falling 60-38 at Stony Brook in the first conference road game on Wednesday. Binghamton owns a record of 3-12 overall and is 1-1 in America East. The Bearcats opened league play with a 65-64 win over UMass Lowell, but dropped a 59-44 decision at Hartford on Tuesday.LAST TIME OUT - Stony Brook 60, Vermont 38
Sydney Smith scored a game-high 13 points, but the Stony Brook Seawolves used a strong first half effort to post a 60-38 victory ... Smith, who scored 11 of her 13 points in the first half, went 3-for-7 from beyond the arc and added five rebounds ... A layup by Smith at the 14:17 mark of the first half cut the Stony Brook lead to three, 14-11. The Seawolves responded with a 20-5 run over the next 10 minutes and went to the locker room with a 38-19 advantage ... UVM struggled offensively, shooting 20.4 percent from the floor for the game.
