BURLINGTON, Vt. - The Vermont women's basketball team faces Sacred Heart for just the second time in program history and first since the 1984-85 season on Wednesday (Dec. 3). Freshman Sydney Smith drained six 3-pointers and scored a career-high 18 points to lead Vermont, but No. 21-ranked Syracuse placed six players in double figures to post a 94-63 win at the Carrier Dome ... Smith and junior Kylie Atwood placed the UVM offense, combining for 10 of the team's 12 3-pointers in the contest ... ATWOOD OFF TO BEST START IN CAREER
Junior Kylie Atwood is off to the best start in her career ... She has started all six games ... She is averaging 9.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game, while shooting 47.5 percent from the floor and 42.3 percent from beyond the arc ...
