HANCOCK, MA./WOODFORD, Vt. - On Saturday morning, the Williams Carnival wrapped up with day two of competition from Jiminy Peak and Prospect Mtn. The men's and women's Nordic teams competed in the 3x5 CL relay, while the Alpine squads competed in the Slalom. Vermont placed second in the carnival with 754 total points. Dartmouth won the carnival with 935 total points and Middlebury rounded out the top three in third with 704 total points.

The men's Alpine squad placed second in the slalom with 97 points and three skiers in the top 20 of finishers.
Oskar Gillberg was Vermont's best finisher, in fourth with a two-run time of 1:36.06 and 41 EISA points, his second top five finish of the season.
Magnus Berge Styren followed in eighth, with a two-run time of 1:36.63, earning 33 points for the team, his second-best finish of the season.
Sebastian Weiss placed 19th with a two-run time of 1:37.71 and 23 EISA points.

For the women's squad,
Kendahl Roufa was the lone Vermont finisher, placing tenth with a two-run time of 1:39.15, earning 31 EISA points, her fourth top ten finish of the season.

On the Nordic track, the men's team placed first in the 3x5 CL relay with 116 points and both teams on the podium. UVM2 consisted of
Owen Young, Rueben Kretzschmar, and
Luke Rizio, placing first with a run time of 42:51.0, which earned them their 116 EISA points. UVM1 featured
Petter Bakken,
Fin Bailey, and
Benon Brattebo who all finished third with a run time of 42:57.5.

The women's Nordic team placed third in the 3x5 CL relay with 96 points and both teams in the top 10 of finishers. UVM1 was represented by
Haley Brewster,
Greta Kilburn, and
Lena Poduska, placing third with a run time of 49:37.9, earning the team 96 EISA points. UVM2 placed ninth with a run time of 52:10.5.

NEXT UP
The Catamounts will be back in action next weekend (Feb. 20/21), for the Middlebury Carnival and EISA Championships/NCAA East Regionals from the Snow Bowl and Rikert Outdoor Center. Day one of competition will include the slalom for Alpine and the 7.5k CL Int. race for Nordic. The start time for the men's and women's races will be announced on UVMAthletics.com and UVMSkiing social media once released. (All times subject to change).
