BOSTON – The Catamounts (1-2, 0-0 AE) captured their first victory of the season against Boston University (0-2, 0-0 PL), 3-2 in OT, on Friday evening, in their third regular-season match.

"We didn't play our best hockey today, but I'm proud of the resilience the team showed," said head coach Kate Pfeifer. "Their resolve with three minutes left in regulation to tie it was notable, and I was particularly impressed with our ability to withstand being down a player for the first two minutes of overtime."
HOW IT HAPPENED

After the first 30 minutes of play at New Balance Field, both teams remained scoreless.

In the 33rd minute of the game, the Terriers got on the scoreboard when first-year defender Rachel Turer netted her first goal of the season off a short corner.

Vermont answered in the 44th minute of play when junior midfielder Alicia Battistelli ripped a low shot on net that was just inside the circle, which went past Abbey Chun, Boston University's goalkeeper.

In the 46th minute, the Terriers took the lead off a goal by first-year forward Molly Driscoll.

Junior forward Consu de Castro tied the game at two off a beautiful feed from senior midfielder Sophia Lefranc in the 57th minute of the game.

With 1:13 left in overtime, Alicia Battistelli got her second goal of the game when she cleaned up the loose field hockey ball and put it in the back of the net to give the Catamounts their first win of the season.
