Men's Lacrosse Drops Non-Conference Finale to #4 Princeton

Princeton, N.J. – The Catamounts had five different scorers as Vermont (4-5) dropped their nonconference finale to fourth-ranked Princeton (8-2).

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Tigers opened the game on a three-goal run, with Coulter Mackesy completing the hat trick in the first seven minutes of play.  
  • Chad Palumbo got Princeton's fourth of the quarter with 90 seconds to go when he scored unassisted.
  • Mackesy scored fourth in the game just over two minutes into the second quarter.
  • Colin Burns made it a six-goal game when he scored halfway through the second quarter off an assist from Palumbo.
  • Kean Paré got the Catamounts first of the afternoon when he scored off an assist from Zach Davis with seven minutes to go in the second quarter.
  • Palumbo restored the Tigers' six-goal lead when he scored with just under three minutes to go in the first half off an assist from Tucker Wade.
  • Princeton's first goal of the second half came from Nate Kabiri, who scored off an assist from Peter Buonanno with just under eight minutes left.
  • Sam Bowen got Vermont's second of the day off an assist from Cullen Decker with six minutes to go in the third quarter.
  • Burns got his second of the day when he scored off an assist from Kabiri with three minutes to go in third.
  • Decker got his 10th goal of the season when he scored off an assist from Davis with 90 seconds left in the third quarter.
  • Burns completed his hattrick with nine seconds left in the third quarter with an assist from Palumbo.
  • Max Frattaroli got his 10th goal of the season with just over five minutes left when he scored off an assist from Zach Davis.
  • Less than a minute later, Max Goldstein scored his first career goal off an assist from Decker.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • The Catamounts had five separate goal scorers, while Decker (1 G, 2 A) and Davis (3 A) were the top point-getters for Vermont, as the pair had three points each.
  • Henry Dodge continued his dominant season at the X, going 11-17 with six groundballs. Dodge moves into fourth all-time for career faceoff wins now with 312.
  • The Catamount defense forced six turnovers, with Ryker Demarest causing three. Paré, Connor Huguenard, and Colin Bullock recorded the other three.
  • Decker and Jack Combs were second and third in ground balls for Vermont, with five and four, respectively.
  • Ryan Daly had a career high 20 saves to go along with a career high four ground balls.
