HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Great Danes opened the games on a five-goal run with two goals from Silas Richmond and Max Neeson and two from Jackson Palumb.
- Pope got the Catamount's first goal of the game with just over three minutes to go in the first quarter off an assist from Luke Reiter.
- Ryan Doherty restored the UAlbany five-goal advantage 34 seconds later when he scored unassisted.
- Pat Coughlin got Vermont's second of the game when he scored unassisted with just three minutes played in the second quarter.
- Cullen Decker and Max Frattaroli scored seven seconds apart to cut the deficit to two, just forty seconds after the goal by Coughlin.
- Richmond scored two straight for UAlbany to push the Great Danes's lead back to four.
- Tatum Lewis scored his first career goal with just under three minutes to go in the first half off an assist from Chase Gozdeck.
- Palumb completed his hat trick with a minute to go in the half to push the UAlbany lead back to four.
- Matthew Drimmie got the Catamounts first of the second half, four minutes in, when he scored off an assist from Kean Paré.
- Doherty got his second of the game when he scored off an assist from Koleton Marquis with nine minutes gone in the third quarter.
- Zach Davis cut the deficit back to three when he scored off an assist from Max Goldstein with five minutes to go in the third.
- The Great Danes closed the third quarter on a two-goal run with two goals from Doherty.
- Pope got his second of the game on the man-up, with two minutes gone in the fourth off, with an assist from Reiter.
- A little more than a minute later, Decker found the back of the net for the second time off an assist from Pope.
- With 10 and a half minutes to go, Paré got the deficit to two off an assist from Pope.
- Richmond, Emmett, and Marquis scored in the final seven minutes to push the lead back to five.
- With less than a minute to go, Jack Combs scored shorthanded for Vermont to make it 15-11 off an assist from Zach Davis.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Pope and Decker were the top scorers for the Catamounts with two apiece. Seven other players recorded a goal.
- Pope had a career-high three assists to lead Vermont's distribution. Reiter had two to be second, while five others recorded an assist.
- Henry Dodge and Walter Zhao combined to go 21-27 from the faceoff spot, with 13 ground balls between the two.
- Ryan Daly had 11 saves, giving him double-digit saves for the sixth time this season.
