Women's Basketball Max Robison

#2 Women's Basketball Hosts #7 UMBC in Jersey Mike's America East Quarterfinal

BURLINGTON, Vt. - Second seed Vermont (18-12, 13-3 AE) hosts seventh-seeded UMBC (14-14, 7-9 AE) on Thursday (Mar. 6) for the quarterfinals of the 2025 Jersey Mike's America East playoffs. The game will tip off at 5:00 p.m. ET and be streamed live on ESPN+ with Rob Ryan and Bernie Cieplicki on the call.
 
BROADCAST INFORMATION
The game will be streamed live on ESPN+. Fans can listen to the game for free on the Vermont Sports Network from Learfield on The Game, which will air on 97.1 FM in Burlington, 105.9 FM in Plattsburgh, and 960 AM around the rest of the region. The radio broadcast is also available via the Varsity Network App, and Ryan Zimmerman is on the call.

VERMONT OUTLOOK 
  • The Catamounts defeated UMBC, 79-59, in their last game. 
  • Nikola Priede led all scorers with a career-high 22 points. Anna Olson was second with 14, while Malia Lenz had 11 to round out the top three scorers. Catherine Gilwee had 10 points, which gave Vermont four double-digit scorers for the second consecutive game.
  • The 79 points were a season-high for the Catamounts, who also set a single-game program record for field goal percentage at 69.6%.
  • Gilwee led Vermont in assists with six. Priede was second with a career-high of five. Keira Hanson was third with three.
  • The Catamounts had four players record four rebounds to lead the team. Gilwee and Sarah Ericson were second with three and the only other players to record multiple rebounds.
  • Vermont holds a 29-20 all-time series lead over UMBC. The Catamounts have won nine of the last ten meetings, including both regular-season meetings. This quarterfinal meeting is the third straight year the two teams have met in the playoffs, and it is the second year in a row they have met in the quarterfinals.
  • This season, Olson is Vermont's leading scorer, averaging 13.4 points per game. Keira Hanson and Nikola Priede are second and third, averaging 9.3 and 8.4 per game, respectively. 
  • Bella Vito leads the Catamounts on the boards with 5.7 per game. Olson and Priede are second and third, averaging 5.0 and 4.3 per game, respectively. 
 
SCOUTING THE RETRIEVERS
  • UMBC closed the regular season by losing three of its last five games, including the regular season finale against Vermont.
  • Jordan Lewis was the Retrievers' lone all-conference selection, earning a spot on the second team.
  • Lewis leads UMBC in scoring, averaging 11.9 points per game. Jaden Walker and Talia Davis follow, with averages of 10.0 and 9.0, respectively.  
  • Walker is UMBC's top rebounder, hauling in 6.1 boards a game. Lewis is second with 5.1 per game, and Davis is third with 4.2 boards.
