Women’s Basketball Hosts UAlbany in National Girls and Women Sports Day Game

BURLINGTON, Vt. - Vermont (12-11, 7-2 AE) hosts UAlbany (19-4, 9-1 AE) on Feb. 8 for their annual celebration of National Girls and Women in Sports Day. The game will tip off at 2:00 p.m. ET and be streamed live on ESPN+ and NESN+.

BROADCAST INFORMATION
The game will be streamed live on ESPN+. Fans can listen to the game for free on the Vermont Sports Network from Learfield on WVMT, which will air on 96.3 FM in Burlington, 105.9 FM in Plattsburgh, and 620 AM around the rest of the region. The radio broadcast is also available via the Varsity Network App, and Ryan Zimmerman is on the call.

Game Notes: Vermont

VERMONT OUTLOOK

The Catamounts fell to Maine last time out, 45-39.
Catherine Gilwee led the scoring with 12 points. Nikola Priede and Bella Vito were second and third with 11 and eight points, respectively.
Anna Olson led Vermont on the boards with a season-high 11 rebounds. Priede and Sarah Ericson were tied for second with six each. Vito was third with five.
Priede was the Catamount's top distributor with four assists, while Vito and Gilwee had two.
Vermont is 26-28 all-time against the Great Danes but dropped their first matchup this season on Jan. 2, 64-55, behind 19 points from Olson.
Olson is the Catamount's leading scorer, averaging 13.5 ppg. Keira Hanson is second, averaging 8.9 ppg, while Vito is third, averaging 8.5.
Vito is Vermont's best rebounder, hauling in 6.3 per game. Olson is second, averaging 5.3 per game, and Priede is third, averaging 3.9.

SCOUTING THE GREAT DANES

UAlbany is 8-1 since taking on the Catamounts on Jan. 2. They defeated Bryant on Thursday, 48-43 for their most recent win. The Great Danes sit atop the America East standings, a game ahead of Vermont.
UAlbany has the top offense and defense in the conference, averaging 65.2 points per game and giving up 54.3 points per game.
Kayla Cooper leads the Great Danes in scoring, averaging 17.9 ppg. Kaci Donovan and Lilly Phillips rank second and third, averaging 12.0 and 9.2, respectively.
Cooper is Albany's top rebounder with 7.2 boards a game. Donovan is second, averaging 3.9 rbg, and Jessica Tomasetti is third with 3.7 per game.
