BURLINGTON, Vt. –  The Vermont men's basketball team won in Patrick Gym against Bryant on Thursday evening. TJ Hurley led the Catamounts in scoring with 17 points.

"Great win against a really good Bryant team. I want to thank the fans for coming out tonight. It was a slug fest tonight and I thought Bryant played really hard and physical. TJ had to work for everything and Ileri kept us in the game in the first half. I thought the play of Noah Barnett changed a lot for us. He guarded multiple guys and nine rebounds. I was really happy for him."

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Bryant started the game off with a 14-4 run in the first four minutes of the 1^st half.
• Thanks to back-to-back Ileri Ayo-Faleye threes, Catamounts trailed 14-10 at the 14:22 mark.
• At the 12-minute media timeout, Vermont capped off their 13-0 run with a Nick Fiorillo corner three. UVM led 17-14.
• After a couple lead changes, Shamir Bogues threw down a dunk to give UVM a 22-20 lead with 9 minutes remaining.
• With 5 minutes left in the 1^st half, TJ hurley knocked down a deep three bank shot  to give Vermont a 27-25 lead.
• Bryant ended the half with 8-3 run which put the Catamounts down 33-30.
• TJ Hurley would kick off the second half throwing down a dunk after a shot fake.
• A Nick Fiorillo right-wing three would help UVM climb their way back being down 40-41 at the 12-minute media timeout.
• At the 9:30 mark in the 2^nd half, Shamir Bogues would drive and finish with a spin paint finish to tie the game at 45.
• With 5 minutes remaining in the game, Ileri Ayo-Faleye would hit a fadeaway mid-range jumper as the shot clock expired. UVM led 52-49.
• At the 3:10 mark, TJ Hurley would knock down a floater to extend the Vermont lead 55-51.
• Bryant would tie the game at 55 until TJ Hurley would get left-handed paint finish to go with one minute remaining. Vermont led 57-55.
• With 15 seconds remaining, a Noah Barnett steal would led to an Ileri Ayo-Faleye fast break dunk to seal the game for the Catamounts.
