BURLINGTON, Vt. –  The Vermont men's basketball team won on the road against Maine on Saturday afternoon. TJ Hurley led the Catamounts in scoring with 24 points. Sam Alamutu had a career-high 13 rebounds and a career-high 7 assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Vermont started the game with an 8-4 lead at the 16-minute media timeout thanks to two TJ Hurley baskets.
• With 12 minutes remaining in the 1^st half, Nick Fiorillo hit a left-wing three to extend UVM's lead 16-9.
• A minute later, TJ Hurley would knock down a left-wing three to increase Vermont's lead to 10.
• An Ileri Ayo-Faleye three would put the Catamounts up 24-11 at the 8-minute media timeout.
• Maine would go on an 11-4 run to close out the first half.
• At halftime, the Catamounts led 28-22. TJ Hurley had half of the team's points in the 1^st half with 14 first-half points.
• UVM started on a 12-2 run to start the 2^nd half. Sean Blake had a left dribble drive finish and then TJ Hurley had his own left side baseline drive with a finish in the paint. With 15 minutes remaining Vermont led 40-24.
• At the 11-minute mark, the Black Bears climbed their way back thanks to their own 13-2 run. A Sam Alamutu steal would lead to a Sean Blake finish on the fast break. UVM still led 44-35.
• Minutes later, Jace Roquemore would hit a right-wing corner three to give UVM a 47-36 lead.
• Right before the 8-minute media timeout, TJ Hurley knocked down a logo three with 2 seconds left in the shot clock. Hurley was fouled on the play as Vermont led 50-42.
• After both teams exchanged shots, UVM still led 55-47 with four minutes remaining.
• Nick Fiorillo was left wide open as he sunk a right-wing three. Catamounts led 58-49 with 3:20 remaining.
• One minute later, Jace Roquemore would throw an alley-oop to Ileri Ayo-Faleye. UVM led 60-51.
• Vermont would make five free throws to finish the game.

• TJ Hurley had a game-high 24 points while shooting (7-13) from the field and (4-7) from three. This was Hurley's 8^th game with 20+ points.
• Ileri Ayo-Faleye (12 points) was the only other Catamount in double-digit scoring against Maine. Ayo-Faleye also had a team-high 3 blocks.
• Sam Alamutu had a career-high 13 rebounds and a career-high 7 assists. This was Alamutu's 3^rd game this season with 10+ rebounds.
• Sean Blake's 8 points all came in the 2^nd half. Blake also contributed 4 assists and 4 rebounds.  
• Vermont outshot Maine (47.9%) to (44.4%).
• With this win, Vermont currently sits in 2^nd place in the America East standings.
