Women's Basketball Max Robison

Women's Basketball Hosts Maine on Saturday

BURLINGTON, Vt. - Vermont (14-11, 9-2 AE) hosts Maine (12-12, 7-4 AE) on Feb. 15 for their second time this season. The game will be the Catamounts annual Rally Against Cancer game presented by Mascoma Bank. The game will tip off at 4:00 p.m. ET and be streamed live on ESPN+.
 
BROADCAST INFORMATION
The game will be streamed live on ESPN+. Fans can listen to the game for free on the Vermont Sports Network from Learfield on WVMT, which will air on 96.3 FM in Burlington, 105.9 FM in Plattsburgh, and 620 AM around the rest of the region. The radio broadcast is also available via the Varsity Network App, and Ryan Zimmerman is on the call.

VERMONT OUTLOOK
  • The Catamounts traveled to New Hampshire on Thursday and won 55-46. 
  • Nikola Priede was Vermont's top scorer with a career-high 15 on seven field goals.
  • Keira Hanson had 13, Catherine Gilwee had 11, and Anna Olson had 10. It was the third time this season that the Catamounts had four double-figure scorers.
  • Priede had a career-high 10 rebounds, which marked her first career double-double. Olson and Bella Vito were tied for second with six each. Gilwee was the only other Vermont player with multiple rebounds.
  • Olson and Gilwee were tied as the Catamount's top distributors with two each. At the same time, Priede, Hanson, and Emma Haan were the others to record an assist.
  • Vermont's defense held New Hampshire to a season-low of 28.3% from the field.
  • Maine leads the all-time series 68-37 and has won four of the last five against the Catamounts. The Black Bears defeated Vermont two weeks ago, 45-39, on a day when Gilwee was the leading scorer with 12 points.
  • This season, Olson is the Catamounts leading scorer, averaging 13.7 points per game. Hanson and Vito are second and third, averaging 9.1 and 7.9 per game, respectively.
  • Vito leads Vermont on the boards with 6.2 per game. Olson and Priede are second and third, averaging 5.2 and 4.2 per game, respectively.
 
SCOUTING THE BLACK BEARS
  • Maine has dropped both of its games since defeating the Catamounts two weeks ago. Last week, it fell to UMBC and NJIT.
  • The Black Bears sit third in the conference at 7-4, with a game in hand over the Highlanders.
  • Caroline Bornemann is Maine's leading scorer, averaging 12.9 points per game. Caroline Dotsey and Asta Blauenfeldt follow, averaging 10.7 and 8.9, respectively.
  • Bornemann is Maine's top rebounder with 7.8 boards a game. Paula Gallego is second, averaging 4.3, and Olivia Rockwood is third with 3.0 per game.
