BALTIMORE, MD – Vermont (11-10, 6-1 AE) had four double-digit players after a slow start to defeat UMBC (8-10, 1-5 AE) on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The two teams traded scores to start the game, with Keira Hanson, Bella Vito, and Anna Olson all scoring as the Catamounts took a 7-6 lead into the first media timeout.
  • The Retrievers closed the first quarter on a 9-6 run, with Hanson, Vito, and Olson all scoring.
  • Vermont took a 7-0 run into the second media timeout, with Sarah Ericson, Nikola Priede, and Catherine Gilwee all scoring.
  • The Catamounts closed the half on a 12-2 with Gilwee, Olson, Priede, Ericson, and Hanson all scoring.
  • Vermont opened the second half on a 7-4 run, with Ericson, Gilwee, and Olson all scoring.

  • Ericson led all scorers with 15 points and matched a career-high with five made threes. Gilwee was second with 12, while Olson and Priede had 11 and 10, respectively, as the Catamounts had four scorers in double figures for the second time this season.
  • Ericson's five three's were the first time anyone has had at least five in a game this season.
  • Ericson also led Vermont on the boards, as she had eight rebounds. Hanson was second with four, while Lenz and Priede had three each.
  • Gilwee was the Catamounts distributor, matching her season high of seven. Olson was the other Vermont player with multiple assists, with two.
  • Vermont finishes its three-game road trip, allowing 42.7 ppg and holding teams to six three-pointers on 17.1% shooting from deep.
