Women's Basketball Max Robison

Women’s Basketball Close Out Homestand with Visit from Bryant

BURLINGTON, Vt. - Vermont (7-10, 2-1 AE) hosts Bryant (8-7, 1-1 AE) on Jan. 11 for their annual Youth Day presented by Healthy Living. The game will tip off at 2:00 p.m. ET and be streamed live on ESPN+ with Rob Ryan and Bernie Cieplicki on the call. It will be the third straight game at home for the Catamounts. 
 
BROADCAST INFORMATION
The game will be streamed live on ESPN+. Fans can listen to the game for free on the Vermont Sports Network from Learfield on WVMT, which will air on 96.3 FM in Burlington, 105.9 FM in Plattsburgh, and 620 AM around the rest of the region. The radio broadcast is also available via the Varsity Network App, and Ryan Zimmerman is on the call.
 
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TO CELEBRATE NGWSD FEB. 8
The UVM Women's Basketball team will celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day powered by Vermont Mutual Insurance Group on Saturday, Feb. 8, during their game against UAlbany at 2:00 p.m.
 
On Feb. 8, girls from the local community interested in sports and being involved in this celebration will have the opportunity to become members of the UVM Athletic Staff for the day. Girls between 4th and 8th grade can apply to a wide variety of positions including: Public Address Announcer, Marketing Assistant, Ticket Staff, and many more! Participants will be able to work in the position for one half of the game; for the other half, they will be able to watch the game with family. 
 
All applications must be submitted by 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23. Participants selected will be informed by 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30 at the very latest. Those chosen to participate will receive a free ticket and discounted tickets for family and friends who wish to attend the game.

VERMONT OUTLOOK
  • The Catamounts defeated UMass Lowell 77-52 in their last game.
  • Anna Olson was Vermont's leading scorer with 18 points. Nikola Priede and Malia Lenz were the other Catamounts in double figures with 14 and 12 points, respectively, which were career highs.
  • Bella Vito led Vermont on the boards with 10, which marks her second double-digit rebounding game of the season. Priede was second with six.
  • Catherine Gilwee matched a season-high with seven assists, while Olson was second with four.
  • Vermont holds a 7-5 series lead and has won six of the last seven meetings.
  • The Catamounts split last season's series, winning 61-35 at home but falling in Smithfield.
  • This season, Olson is Vermont's leading scorer, averaging 14.5 points per game. Keira Hanson and Vito are second and third, averaging 9.2 per game, respectively.
  • Vito leads the Catamounts on the boards with 6.5 per game. Olson and Priede are second and third, averaging 5.0 and 3.8 per game, respectively.
 
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
  • Bryant split their opening two conference games as they defeated New Hampshire but fell to Maine.  
  • The Bulldogs went 7-6 in nonconference play.
  • They were picked fourth in the America East preseason poll. They had one selection to the preseason all-conference team in Mia Mancini, who was the 2023-24 America East Rookie of the Year.
  • Ali Brigham is Bryant's leading scorer, averaging 12 points per game. Mancini and Breezie Williams are second and third, averaging 11.7 and 10.8 ppg, respectively.
  • Nia Scott is the Bulldog's top rebounder, hauling in 9.2 boards a game. Brigham is second with 5.3 per game, and Maranda Nyborg is third with 4.7 boards.
  • Mancini, Scott, and Martina Boba are the top returning scorers for Bryant from 2023-24.
  • Scott, Silvia Gonzales, and Mancini are the top rebounders to return.
