COACH'S QUOTE
"We had a quick start today which was helpful in setting the tone," said Head Coach Kristi Huizenga. "There were stretches of the game where we could have been cleaner with the ball, but our finishing was excellent and we were on task defensively, so it was nice to get some goals and a shutout. We're really happy for Bailey to be one of the top goal scorers in the NCAA right now and for Boss to get back into the stats."

HOW IT HAPPENED
- One minute into the game, Emma Warren found Ayer cutting through the far side of the box, where Ayer cut the corner and used her left foot to place her shot just over the head of Siena's keeper for her fifth goal of the season, earning Vermont the early one goal advantage.
- In the 21st minute, a penalty on Vermont inside the box gave Siena's Abby Daly a penalty kick opportunity, but she missed wide right, keeping the score 1-0 in favor of Vermont.
- Just a little over one minute later, in the 22nd minute, Bridget Kennedy placed her cross perfectly in the middle of the box, finding Kate Bossert who was there to finish it off with her right foot, scoring her first goal of the season to give Vermont the 2-0 lead. Kennedy's assist was her first career assist.
- Jill Brody almost put the Catamounts up by three in the 27th minute when she rifled a shot from 20 yards out, hitting the right post and bouncing out to keep the UVM advantage at two.
- Ayer gave Vermont a 3-goal cushion in the 30th minute after finessing her way through three Saint defenders and pinning her shot in the top left corner with the left foot, giving Vermont the 3-0 first half lead.
- In the 60th minute, Ayer scored the first hat-trick since '05, and the first of her career, turning from her defender and blasting through the middle, this time using her right foot, she sniped her shot bottom left past Siena's keeper to put the Catamounts ahead, 4-0.
- Ayer was awarded a free kick in the 67th minute just outside the box, placing it bottom center on the net, the Saint's keeper made an initial save, but Bossert was there once again to clean up the rebound, scoring her second goal of the game to put Vermont in front 5-0.
- Siena applied desperate pressure as time expired, forcing Sydney Slusser to make one of her six saves throughout the game, but Slusser was there to answer the call, keeping the Saint's scoreless the rest of the match as the Catamounts ran away with the 5-0 victory.
