COACH'S QUOTE
"We were a little off today and it wasn't our best performance," said Head Coach Kristi Huizenga. "But we were happy to finish on two great goals from Bailey and Emma and create a number of other opportunities."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vermont struck first five minutes into opening kickoff when Jill Brody broke up a Boston University breakout attempt, streaking down the far side of the field, she found Bailey Ayer in the slot who buried the ball into the bottom left corner of the net for her third goal of the season. The Catamounts were off to an early 1-0 lead.
- After 30 plus minutes of each team exchanging great scoring opportunities, Boston University got on the scoreboard in the 38th minute when Shayla Brown scored on her corner kick attempt, placing the ball in the high right corner, knotting the score at 1-1.
- The Catamounts bounced back, scoring in the 53rd minute of action, regaining the advantage, 2-1. Sydney Remington connected with Emma Warren using a cross pass, where Warren was able to create space away from her defender and snipe her shot from 22 yards out, pinning the ball in the top right corner just under the crossbar for her first career goal as a Catamount.
- In the 66th minute, Boston University's Margy Porta was able to cash in on a rebound created by Jaiden Schultz, whose shot was originally saved, but the rebound trickled too far out of reach for Vermont as the Terriers knotted the score back up, 2-2.
- Despite both teams battling hard throughout the remainder of the match, neither squad was able to score again, as the match went to a final of 2-2.
