FINAL SCORE: Bryant 21, Vermont 10
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Vermont had an early lead, but offensive surges from Bryant in the second and fourth quarters proved to be the difference as they defeated the Catamounts 21-10 on Saturday from Beirne Stadium. With the loss the Catamounts fall to 6-6 overall and 1-3 in conference play while Bryant improves to 8-4 and 2-1 in America East on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jane Trauger got the scoring started for Vermont, finding the back of the net at the 13:39 mark of the opening frame to give the Catamounts a 1-0 lead.
- A little over a minute later, Bryant answered, knotting the score at 1-1 with 12:28 to play in the first quarter.
- While being a woman up, Trauger set up Claire Adelhelm who scored at the 11:17 mark of the opening quarter to extend Vermont's lead to 2-1.
- Bryant scored two goals before the end of the first quarter to take a 3-2 advantage into the second quarter.
- Emily DeGeorge opened scoring in the second frame, putting the Bulldogs ahead, 4-2, just 26 seconds into the quarter.
- McKenzie Ballard answered for the Catamounts, scoring 26 seconds later to bring Vermont within one, 4-3, with 14:08 to play in the second quarter.
- Bryant dialed up a five goal scoring run over the next seven plus minutes of action, taking a commanding 9-3 lead with 4:18 to play in the second frame.
- Trauger ended the Bulldogs run, scoring her second goal of the game, with 3:41 to go in the quarter, making the score 9-4 in favor of Bryant.
- Following Bryant's tenth goal of the game, Ava Vasile scored with 1:28 to go, bringing the score to 10-5 in favor of Bryant.
- Bryant took a five goal lead into halftime leading Vermont, 10-5.
- The Bulldogs scored the first two goals to begin the third quarter, extending their lead to 12-5 with 11:57 left to play in the frame.
- Vermont tried to battle back with Erin Kloostra finding the back of the net just seconds later at the 11:21 mark of the third frame to cut the deficit 12-6.
- Elise Larsen notched a goal for Bryant at the 8:01 mark of the third quarter, bringing the Bulldogs ahead, 13-6.
- Vasile scored her second goal of the game while being a woman up at the 6:33 mark of the quarter, making the score 13-7.
- Vermont continued to try and battle back and with 1:05 to go in the third quarter, Trauger registered her hat-trick goal to bring the Catamounts within five, 13-8.
- However, Bryant broke away in the fourth quarter, Kenna Kaut opened the scoring in the final quarter, elevating Bryant's lead to 14-8 with 13:17 left to play.
- A little over one minute later, Vasile fed Erin Kloostra, who scored with 12:05 of gametime remaining, putting the score at 14-9 in favor of Bryant.
- From there Bryant orchestrated a seven goal scoring run to take a 21-9 advantage with 2:10 left to play in the game.
- Ballard would net a late goal, her second of the game, with 1:12 of gametime remaining before the clock expired, to put the game at its final score of 21-10 in favor of Bryant.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Trauger registered her third hat-trick of the season while also adding one assist, finishing with a team-high four total points.
- Vasile notched three total points on two goals and one assist while also leading the team in shots, collecting seven total.
- Kloostra and Ballard both finished with two goals each.
- Adelhelm finished with one goal and two assists, earning a new season high in points after notching three total against the Bulldogs.
- Charlotte Nevins earned a team-high three ground balls and three caused turnovers.
