BURLINGTON, Vt. – Hayley Weltner's goal with 3:51 remaining was the difference as Vermont (6-5, 1-2 AE) fell to Binghamton (6-6, 2-1 AE) 10-9 on Saturday afternoon at Virtue Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vermont struck first, earning the early 1-0 lead after Ava Vasile fed Lindsay Lefebvre in the slot with 11:47 to go in the opening frame. Lefebvre's tally was the only one of the first quarter.
- Binghamton got on the board in second frame when Weltner picked the top right corner, knotting the score at 1-1 with 13:42 to go in the quarter.
- The Catamounts bounced back just over two minutes later after Jane Trauger found Kendall Traveis in the slot while a man-down. Traveis tucked a shot over the left shoulder of Binghamton's goalkeeper giving Vermont a 2-1 advantage with 11:18 to go in the second frame.
- McKenzie Ballard scored her first goal of the game with 5:13 to go in the quarter after receiving a pass from Ciera Licare. She took a few steps forward and unleashed a left-handed shot, beating the Binghamton goalie top left, to earn the two-goal edge, 3-1.
- Licare scored a free-position goal for Vermont with 2:42 remaining in the first half, elevating the lead to 4-1.
- The Bearcats managed to notch two goals before the halftime buzzer, cutting Vermont's lead down to 4-3 as both teams entered the break.
- A little over one minute into the third quarter, Weltner tied the game for the Bearcats, scoring her second of the game to make the score 4-4.
- Vasile found Ballard for her second goal of the game, giving Vermont the lead back, 5-4, with 12:44 to play in the third frame.
- After a goal from Binghamton to tie the score at 5-5, Vasile found the back of the net with 7:19 remaining in the third to take the lead back for Vermont, up 6-5.

- Ballard scored her hat-trick goal with 12:58 remaining in gametime after sniping a shot in the upper corner, using a left-handed side-arm shot to earn the Catamounts a two-goal lead, 8-6.
- Vermont bounced back after Binghamton's seventh goal of the game when Vasile fed Lydia Doraz for her fifth goal of the season. The goal gave the Catamounts a 9-7 advantage with 9:12 remaining.
- Shortly after, the Bearcats scored two goals in a little less than one minute to knot the score at 9-9 with 6:18 to go in regulation.
- Weltner scored the clinching goal for Binghamton, earning their first and only lead of the game with 3:51 remaining in regulation.
