Final Score: Vermont 57, Binghamton 66
VESTAL, NY – Vermont was defeated by Binghamton on the road at Dr. Bai Lee Court on Saturday afternoon, 66-57. The loss snaps Vermont's six-game winning streak and drops the Catamounts to 15-8 (7-2 AE), while with the victory Binghamton improves to 9-13 (4-5 AE) on the season.

Alisa Kresge. "When you get outrebounded 33-20, you won't win many games if any at all. Our defense is our foundation, and we gave up 46 points in the second half. Can't win giving up that many points in 20 minutes of play."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams struggled to find their offense early with the two teams heading into the first media timeout with 4:19 left in the first quarter, tied 6-6.
- Coming out of the media timeout the Bearcats outscored Vermont 6-5 through the rest of the quarter to take a 12-11 lead into the first break.
- Binghamton continued their run into the second quarter and following two Ella Wanzer free throws they pushed their lead to 14-11 with 9:45 to go in the half.
- Vermont responded with a 13-4 run of their own over the next 5:27 of game action to take a 24-18 lead with 3:53 remaining in the second quarter.
- During that span Vermont shot 6-of-7 from the floor while holding Binghamton to 2-of-7 from the field. Bella Vito led the way for the Catamounts with four points while Andjela Matic also added three. Genevieve Coleman and Denai Bowman had two apiece for the Bearcats.
- Vito connected on a triple with 1:04 remaining to send Vermont into the halftime break with a 29-20 lead.
- Both teams again struggled to score to start the second half with the first basket not coming until two and a half minutes into the quarter on a Jadyn Weltz layup for Binghamton.
- Vermont responded with a quick 6-2 burst, and following a Nikola Priede hook shot seized their largest lead of the game at 35-24 with 4:53 remaining in the quarter.
- The Bearcats finished the third quarter on a 15-6 run over the final four plus minutes to cut the deficit to 41-39. Binghamton went 6-of-6 during that span led by eight points from Camryn Fauria.
- Binghamton took their first lead of the second half, 42-41 on a Wanzer three on their first possession of the fourth quarter.
- The lead was short lived as Delaney Richason responded with a three on the other end for Vermont to put UVM back up, 44-42.
- Over the next 5:25 of the third quarter, the teams battled back-and-forth with neither team able to get more than a four point edge. Following a Meghan Casey Jumper with 3:55 left Binghamton tied the game up at 54-54. During that span there was four ties and four lead changes. Anna Olson scored four points for Vermont during that time, while Kendall Bennet and Fauria each scored four for Binghamton.
- Over the final three plus minutes of the game the Bearcats put the clamps on defensively and connected on their free throws down the stretch, outscoring Vermont 12-3 to capture the 66-57 upset.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Olson scored a team-high 17 points alongside five rebounds and an assist on 7-of-13 shooting from the field.
- Richason finished with seven points and a team-high six rebounds along with two assists and a block.
- Vermont's bench outscored Binghamton's 20-8 led by 10 points and three assists from Keira Hanson.
- Vermont shot 56.5 percent from the floor in the first half while holding Binghamton to just 33.3 percent. In the second half Vermont shot 39.3 percent from the floor, but Binghamton connected on 63.6 percent of their shots. Overall, Vermont shot 47.1 percent for the game, while Binghamton shot 47.8 percent.
