BUFFALO, NY – Sarah Ericson and Keira Hanson each had 16 points as Vermont (5-8) fell to Buffalo (10-0) on Thursday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Catamounts opened on a 5-0 run, with Catherine Gilwee hitting a three and Anna Olson scoring.
Buffalo responded with a 6-0 run to give them a one-point lead with 6:02 to go in the first.
Vermont then went on a 10-5 run into the first media timeout with five points from Gilwee, three from Olson, and two from Hanson.
The Bulls closed the first quarter on a 7-0 run to take an 18-15 lead.
The Catamounts opened the second quarter on a 20-5 run, with Malia Lenz and Ericson leading the way with 11 of the 18 points. Olson, Hanson, and Vito contributed the rest with four, three, and two, respectively.
Buffalo ended the run at the 2:12 mark with a layup by Alexis Davis.
Vermont ended the half on a 7-0 run with four points from Ericson and three from Lenz.
The Catamounts traded baskets to open the third but outscored the Bulls 13-9, heading into the third media timeout. Hanson had eight, Gilwee had three, and Olson had two during the stretch.
Buffalo closed the third quarter on a 9-4 run, with Ericson scoring all four points for Vermont.
