BURLINGTON, Vt. – The Catamounts held the Purple Knights to single digits in two different quarters as they eased to a 38-point win in their only exhibition game of the 2024-25 season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vermont opened on an 18-0 run with seven different scorers getting buckets including Anna Olson's four.Â
- The Catamount defense forced eight turnovers and limited the Saint Michaels offense to 1-11 shooting, with Ruby Santos's layup, 34 seconds remaining in the quarter, and the Purple Knights' only field goal.
- St. Michaels closed the gap to 13 heading into the second quarter media timeout as they opened with an 8-4 to start.
- Vermont closed the half on a 10-2 run with a Sarah Lazar three with just under four minutes to go, kickstarting the run.
- The Catamounts opened the third quarter outscoring the Purple Knights 13-5, with five points from each of Keira Hanson and Nikola Priede.
- Vermont finished the quarter on a 9-4 run, with Lazar leading the charge with four points.
- The fourth quarter was a back-and-forth battle, with the Catamounts outscoring the Saint Michaels 16-14.
- Vermont took an 8-6 run into the game's final media timeout through four points from Bella Vito.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Hanson led all scorers with 11 points on five-for-nine shooting. The guard added four rebounds and an assist as well.
- Lazar was the other Catamount in double digits, scoring 10 points on four-for-six shooting and two threes. The forward also contributed four rebounds.
- Priede and Vito led Vermont in rebounding with seven a piece.
- With the win, Vermont Mutual Insurance Group will donate $100 to the Vermont Children's Trust Foundation as part of the Cats Win Community Wins initiative.
