COACH'S QUOTE
"I'm really happy with our group to get the win tonight. We really focused on raising our compete level this week and it was impressive to see them battle an excellent St. Lawrence team for 60 minutes," said Head Coach Jim Plumer. "Major kudos to Jane Gervais on a stellar shutout performance and for Lara Beecher for getting us the one goal we needed. The next step for us is to compete at that level game in and game out. That's what we will try to do tomorrow."

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Vermont opened scoring 12:12 into the opening frame when Beecher corralled the loose puck off the short side boards, taking a few strides to the middle and ripping a wrist shot under the blocker of the Saints goalie, securing her third goal of the season to give the Catamounts a 1-0 lead. Rose-Marie Brochu and Josie Hemp both were awarded an assist on the goal.
  • Gervais notched 11 saves throughout the entirety of the second period, maintaining the Vermont lead, 1-0, heading into the final frame of action.
  •  After a scoreless third period, and seven more saves from Gervais, the Catamounts tamed any push from St. Lawrence, earning the 1-0 victory from Guttseron Fieldhouse on Friday night.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Gervais shined bright on Friday evening, earning her first shutout in the Green and Gold, notching 36 total saves, one short of tying her season best, 37.
  • Beecher tallied her third goal of the season and fifth point in just as many games to go along with three shots on net.
  • Hemp recorded her first career point, earning one assist to go along with a game high four blocked shots. Hemp's four blocked shots is also a new career high.
