WOMEN'S BASKETBALL NOTEBOOK
Vermont (6-4, 0-0 AE) looks to extend their winning streak when they travel to Riverdale, New York on Saturday (Dec. 9) to face Manhattan College (4-2, 0-0 MAAC). Tip is scheduled for 12 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

The Catamounts matchup with the Jaspers will be broadcast live on

AMONG THE BEST IN THE AMERICA EAST
Vermont leads the conference in points per game allowed (50.9), second in scoring margin (4.9), second in field goal percentage allowed (36.4) and are tied for second in three point percentage allowed (26.1).
Emma Utterback is third in the conference in scoring at 15.4 points per game and is second in assists at 4.3 per contest.
Delaney Richason is second among America East players with 1.2 blocks per game and 12 total blocks.
Anna Olson leads the conference and is tied for 21st in the nation shooting 60.0 percent per game. She is also third in free throw percentage, knocking down 75.8 percent of her shots from the charity stripe. Utterback is also seventh in the conference in field goal percentage at a 46.2 percent clip.
Bella Vito is fifth among America East players with 7.2 rebounds per contest.
NET RANKINGS
The current 2023-24 NET rankings were released on December 7, 2023, with The America East having three teams ranked in the top 150. Maine is first in the conference coming in at 126 followed by UAlbany at 132. Vermont rounds out the top three coming in at 146.
MID MAJOR RANKINGS
It was announced on Tuesday (Dec. 5) that the Catamounts are currently No. 24 in the
Mid-Major Top 25 rankings. Last season, Vermont reached the top-10 in the mid-major rankings rattling off the second longest winning streak (17) behind only South Dakota State (25). The Catamounts will face Princeton, who is currently second in the rankings, on December 29 at Patrick Gym.
The Mid-Major Poll is made up of teams from the following conferences: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Coastal Athletic, Conference USA, Horizon, Independent, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-America, Mid-eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt, West Coast and Western Atlantic.
SCOUTING THE JASPERS
Manhattan enters Saturday's matchup against the Catamounts with a record of 4-2. In their last game, they beat UMBC, another America East opponent, 68-52. This season, Manhattan is averaging 54.5 points per game on 36.3 percent shooting and 29.5 percent from three. On the defensive side, the Jaspers are surrendering just 51.5 points per contest and are averaging 5.8 steals and 4.8 blocks per contest. Junior guard Nitzan Amar leads the team in scoring with 14.3 points per game to go along with 4.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists. Sophomore guard Anne Bair is second on the team averaging 8.8 points and 2.7 rebounds alongside 2.3 assists. Jade Blagrove leads the team with 7.3 rebounds to go with 2.0 assists and 8.7 points.
INSIDE THE SERIES
This will be the sixth matchup of all time between the two teams, with Vermont holding a 5-0 edge in the series. During their previous five matchups UVM has outscored the Jaspers by an average of 73-57. The first time these two teams met was in Riverdale, NY. on December 1st, 1990, with Vermont claiming the 66-54 victory. The last time these two teams met was at Patrick Gym on December 5, 2009. Vermont came away with 78-59 win in that one.

Following Saturday's matchup with Manhattan the Catamounts will have a week off before returning to Patrick Gymnasium on Saturday (Dec. 16) to face Duquesne.
