FINAL SCORE: Vermont 77, Duquesne 61
BURLINGTON, Vt. – Five different Catamounts reached double figures as Vermont (7-5) won its 15th straight home game Saturday 77-61 over Duquesne (6-4) in non-conference action on Youth Day presented by Healthy Living. Saturday's 16-point win was Vermont's first over an Atlantic 10 team since November 19, 2011.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Catamounts established an early 7-3 advantage 1:41 into the contest boosted by an early Anna Olson three-pointer. Vermont shot 60% from the field in the opening frame.
- UVM used a 14-3 run to close out the quarter with a 23-10 advantage over the Dukes. The Catamounts Andjela Matic had six points in the Catamounts run.
- In the second quarter Duquesne hit back-to-back three-pointers from Naelle Bernard and Kaitlyn Ammons to cut the lead to 11. But Vermont answered right back. The Catamounts used a 7-0 run fueled by two Nikola Priede layups to make it 36-18 with 1:48 to play in the half. Vermont carried a 14-point edge into the break.
- Early in the third quarter Anna Olson and Delaney Richason each had five points as the Catamounts kept their lead in double-digits. With 3:36 to play in the third frame the Dukes hit a triple to cap a 6-0 run that made it 48-40.
- Vermont answered right back, going on an 8-0 run in 1:37 fueled by four points from Matic. The Catamounts carried a 62-46 lead into the fourth quarter.
- The Dukes pushed back with an 11-0 run fueled by seven points from Megan McConnell to cut the Vermont lead to nine with 4:47 to play.
- Keira Hanson had five points over a critical stretch for the Catamounts as they pushed their lead back out to 13 with 2:44 to play.
- Olson and Richason added two layups in the final minute to seal the victory for the Catamounts.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Andjela Matic set a new career-high with 12 points this afternoon. She added five rebounds, one assist and one block.
- Anna Olson posted a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds. It was her first double-double of the season and the seventh of her career.
- Emma Utterback had a season-high nine assists this afternoon, her most in a game since having 10 against Miami on November 11, 2022.
- The Catamounts scored a season-high 77 points Saturday. It was Vermont's highest output since posting 85 against NJIT on February 18.
- Vermont shot 50% (15-30) from the field in the first half while holding the Dukes to 25.8% (8-31) shooting.
- The Catamounts have now defeated eight of the 15 schools in the current A-10. Vermont did defeat Loyola Chicago on December 5, 2021 under Coach Kresge, but the Ramblers were in the Missouri Valley Conference at the time.
- With the win, Vermont Mutual Insurance Group will donate $100 to King Street Center as part of the Cats Win, Community Wins initiative. Since its inauguration in 2017, Vermont Mutual Insurance Group has donated over $80,000 to local non-profits through the Cats Win, Community Wins initiative.
