ORONO, MAINE – Vermont won eight individual swimming events and first year
Tannah Proudfoot continued her hot start to the season, earning first in both diving events, as Vermont (5-1, 1-1 AE) defeated Maine (1-1, 0-1 AE) 170-127 on Saturday (Nov.4).

HOW IT HAPPENED
- To start the day Vermont earned a second place finish in the 200 medley relay in a time of 1:50.21 with the combination of Julie Slavador, Natalie Schlemmer, Halley Laney and Havana Layton.
- In the 1000 free the Catamounts earned a 1-2-3 finish with Ella Church finishing first in a time of 10:38.27 ahead of Ellie Martin (10:50.26) and Emily Rocco (10:56.51).
- Jackie House earned her fourth consecutive victory in the 200 free finishing in a time of 1:56.63.
- Layton also eanred an individual victory of her own placing first in the 50 free with a time of 24.62.
- Alexis Torykian earned her first victory of the season placing first in the 100 back with a time of 59.67.
- Vermont earned a 1-2 finish in the 200 fly when Laney placed first in a time of 2:07.95 ahead of first year teammate Lauren Clark who finished second with a time of 2:11.76.
- Vermont earned a second 1-2 finish in the 100 free with House finishing in a time of 53.26 while Layton was just behind placing second with a time of 53.51.
- Emma Wainwright garnered her first victory of the season placing first in the 200 back with a time of 2:10.26.
- Proudfoot continued her dominant start to the season placing first in the one-meter dive with a score of 252.03 and placed first in the three-meter dive with a score of 278.78. Her three-meter dive score was 31 points ahead of the next closest diver.
- The Catamounts earned their third 1-2 finish of the day in the 500 free when House finished in a time of 5:08.03, earning her third individual victory of the day, while Church placed second in a time of 5:11.43.
- UVM received their final 1-2 finish in the 100 fly with Laney finishing in a time of 57.83 while senior Kara Campbell placed second in a time of 1:00.38.
- Laney finished off her strong day with a victory in the 200 IM finishing in a time of 2:11.08 to help Vermont secure the victory.
UP NEXT
Following Saturday's matchup with America East foe Maine, the Catamounts will return to action on Friday, November 17 when they take part in the Harold Anderson Invitational. The invitational will be a full three-day event starting on Friday, November 17 and going until Sunday, November 19. Events will take place at the Tootell Aquatic Center in Kingston, R.I.
