Vermont (2-0) tips off the Myrtle Beach Invitational on Thursday (Nov. 16) with an opening round matchup against College of Charleston (1-1). The game tips off at 11:30 a.m. ET at HTC Center in Conway, S.C. The Catamounts will also compete in the Myrtle Beach Invitational on Nov. 17 & 19.

The Myrtle Beach Invitational will broadcast live on the ESPN Family of Networks. Vermont's game against College of Charleston will be televised nationally on ESPNU with Robert Lee and Randolph Childress on the call. The broadcast will also be available for streaming onÂ

THE FIELD
The eight-team field will feature Vermont, Coastal Carolina, College of Charleston, Furman, Liberty, Saint Louis, Wichita State, and Wyoming. Six of the eight teams in the field have made an NCAA Tournament in at least one of the past three seasons. College of Charleston and Furman each made the NCAA Tournament a season ago. Furman pulled of a 68-67 upset over No. 4 Virginia in the First Round.

CATS VS. FIELD
Vermont has a 1-4 record against members of the tournament field. The Cats' lone win came in the 2017 Islands of Bahamas Showcase when Vermont defeated Coastal Carolina 80-67 en route to a tournament title. The Catamounts are 0-2 against College of Charleston and 0-2 against Saint Louis.

SCOUTING THE COUGARS
College of Charleston won a program-best 31 games in 2022-23 and captured the Colonial title before falling to national runner-up San Diego State in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament. The Cougars are preseason favorites in the CAA, but have split their first two games of the 2023-24 campaign. Charleston opened up with a 71-69 win over Iona, before falling to Duquesne 90-72 prior to the Myrtle Beach Invite. Ante Brzovic, a 6-10 forward, leads College of Charleston with 14.5 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game. Ben Burnham (11.5 ppg) and Kobe Rodgers (11.0 ppg) also average double figures. Former Stony Brook forward Frankie Policelli has averaged 9.5 points per game this season.

AMONG THE BEST MID-MAJORS
Vermont has been one of the winningest mid-major programs since 2016-17. UVM ranks No. 4 in the country in winning percentage (.775) over the last seven seasons, and have captured five America East Championships. UVM's five conference titles are the second-most in the country during that stretch. The Cats' four NCAA Tournament appearances are No. 3 among mid-majors since 2016-17.

Shamir Bogues currently boasts the third-highest field goal percentage (84.6%). The junior guard made his first six attempts of the season and record a 19-point outing in his UVM debut. Â
