HANOVER, N.H. – Max Murray's 78th-minute goal was the difference as 16th-ranked Vermont (10-2-2, 3-1 AE) defeated Dartmouth (4-6-2, 2-1-1 Ivy) 2-1 on Tuesday night at Burnham Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Yaniv Bazini quickly put the Catamounts on the board in the ninth minute, notching his seventh goal of the season. Jake Ashford found the redshirt junior who tracked down a through ball, cut back towards the middle, and rifled a kick into the upper right corner for the 1-0 lead.
- Dartmouth's Trevor Gee tied the game at 1-1 in the 21st minute. Phineas Callahan delivered a pass to Gee inside the 18-yard box where he one-timed a kick past Owen Jack (1 save) for the equalizer. James Wilson was also credited with an assist.
- The defensive units took over for the remainder of the second half with UVM getting the lone shot in the final 24 minutes. Bazini directed a shot on goal, but was denied by Costi Christodoulou (6 saves).
- Bazini nearly put the Cats ahead in the 57th minute when he cut to his left and quickly fired a low shot from about 10 yards away that was saved by Christodoulou.
- Murray's clinching goal came on a header that he directed in to the upper left corner. Nick Lockermann found the 6-5 forward for his team-leading sixth assist of the season.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Vermont outshot Dartmouth 15-4 on the night, directing eight of its shots on goal. The Catamounts recorded nine shots in the second half.
- All three of Murray's goals this season have been game-winners. The senior has notched the clinching tallies in each of Vermont's last two victories.
- Bazini recorded an impressive eight shots on the evening, with four directed on goal. Sydney Wahuta (3 shots) and Murray (2 shots) also had multiple shots.
- With the win, Vermont Mutual Insurance Group will donate $100 to King Street Center as part of the Cats Win, Community Wins initiative. Since its inauguration in 2017, Vermont Mutual Insurance Group has donated over $80,000 to local non-profits through the Cats Win, Community Wins initiative.Â
