WOMEN'S BASKETBALL NOTEBOOK
Vermont (13-9, 7-4) begins a two-game road swing Wednesday night as they travel to Vestal to face Binghamton (5-14, 1-8) in America East play at 7 p.m. on ESPN+. Fans can also listen live with Cooper Boardman on the call on AM 620 WVMT.

THREE STARTERS IN DOUBLE FIGURES
Three of Vermont's four starters who have started every game this season –
Emma Utterback (11.9 PPG),
Josie Larkins (11.9 PPG) and
Anna Olson (11.7 PPG) are leading the Catamounts all scoring in double figures. All three of them play an average of 29.5 minutes or more per game. One of the three of them has led UVM in scoring in 18 of its 22 games this season and each of the last eight games.
LARKINS HAVING A CAREER-YEAR FROM DOWNTOWN
Larkins is tied for first on the team in scoring this season with 11.9 points per game. She is 13th in the NCAA with 59 made three-pointers this season. She is shooting 40.7 percent from downtown which is 41st in the country. She has made 219 career three-pointers which ranks second all-time at UVM. In games where Larkins hits three or more three-pointers in a game UVM is 7-2 this season.
ALL STARTS ON THE DEFENSIVE END
UVM is second in America East and 17th in the NCAA on the defensive end this season giving up 54.6 points per game. In the Catamounts 13 wins this year they've given up just 47.5 points per game. Vermont is also second in America East averaging 3.8 blocked shots per game. UVM forward

FREE THROWS CAN MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE
In conference play the Catamounts are second in America East hitting 75.9% from the charity stripe. In their last game UVM hit five free throws in the final 29 seconds to stun UMass Lowell by a single point. In Vermont's last nine games they've missed just 21 free throws, an average of just 2.3 per game.
CATAMOUNTS BACK TO THEIR WINNING WAYS
With seven games left in the regular season Vermont has reached 13 regular season wins for the first time since the 2009-10 campaign. UVM also has seven conference wins which matches their best conference mark since the same season. The Catamounts were also 7-9 under Mayer Women's Basketball Coach

SCOUTING BINGHAMTON
The Bearcats are 1-8 this season in conference play but have dropped four games by a single possession including their last game. On Sunday, they fell 48-46 to Maine, the second game of a two-game series with the Black Bears. Maine beat Binghamton last Friday 54-45. All four of the Bearcats single possession losses in league play have come at home. Wednesday's contest with the Catamounts will be Binghamton's fifth straight home game.
Binghamton is led offensively by a pair of juniors Denai Bowman and Birna Benonysdottir. Bowman is averaging 14.7 points per game this season and has reached double figures in each of the Bearcats last seven games. Bowman had 10 points in the last matchup between the two teams on February 15, 2020. Benonysdottir has averaged 14.4 points per game this season but has cooled off as of late. During Binghamton's current four-game home swing she's averaging just 7.5 points. The pair is second and third in America East overall scoring.
Binghamton has the number one ranked three-point field goal defense in the NCAA this season. Teams are shooting just 21.1 percent from downtown against the Bearcats. Vermont has shot at least 30% from three in 16 of their 22 games this season. Vermont is 8-2 this season when they shoot 33.3% from three or better.
SERIES HISTORY
Vermont leads the all-time series with Binghamton 22-17. Over the last four matchups the teams have split the contests. During the 2019-20 campaign the home teams won while during the 2018-19 campaign the road teams won. It will have been 724 days since these teams have faced other. Binghamton defeated UVM 76-53 on February 15, 2020.
